At the same time I was responsible for providing managerial and leadership skills training for community development groups. Also served as a facilitator for the counselling sessions for students at Kenyatta University in the aftermath of the 2007 General Elections violence Was an associate researcher in the socio-economic impact component of the World Banksponsored project on the Northern Corridor Transport Improvement Project (NCTIP) conducted under the aegis of University of Nairobi Enterprises (UNES), 2005-2007. Served as chairman of the Examination Board for the Diploma in Social Work at Embu Government Training Institute January 2000-December 2003. Served as a consultant and trainer in the Engendering the political process project, a gender empowerment project of the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation and the Women s Political Caucus for prospective women candidates in the 2002 General Elections, July- September 2002. I have participated in a series of gender sensitization training-of-trainers workshops organized by UNICEF for selected academic staff of Kenyatta University and subsequently facilitated such a series of such workshops for staff of the Kenya Institute of Education in 2003-2004. RESEARCH ACTIVITY 2016, conducted a study: Eco-friendly dry-land agriculture and water technology for the improvement of food security and health in Kitui County. A Kenyatta University 2013/2014 Vice-Chancellors s Research Grants award. Currently supervising one MA student who is taking part in the study. EXTERNAL EXAMINATION From January 2017 I have been an external examiner for Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Maseno University.\ UNIVERSITY COMMITTEES I have also served on the following university committees as a member:
