What are you doing to help put a Republican in the White House? There are many opportunities to help out! You can travel or make calls for the Mighty Texas Strikeforce. You can volunteer at the Parker County Republican Headquarters and answer calls and questions. You can make a donation to our Republican candidates. Find what suits you and do something. We don't want to wake up on November 9 to learn we fell short of our goal. We need to do everything we can to put Donald Trump in the White House. Also, be sure to mark your calendars for October 8 - the BLRWW Red Boot Soiree. It promises to be a fun night of fellowship, entertainment, and lively politics! Miss Devon & The Outlaw will be our entertainment. There will not be a live or silent auction, just come and have fun! All Board Members have tickets to sell. You don't want to miss out! From Lynn Johnson, BLRWW program chair Thursday, September 15th meeting of Bush Legacy Republican Women 11:30-1:00, Doss Heritage and Culture Center, Weatherford Our September is Bernard Suchocki, Parker County Republican Precinct 410 Chair. Bernard is also an attorney and a former NASA Engineer who worked at the Flight Crew Training Building at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Bernard was assigned to support the Apollo XIII Mission Operations Team, and he was in the MOCR (Manned Operations Control Room) during the Apollo XIII mission and rescue. He coordinated computer simulation results with flight controllers and participated in planning the re-entry checklist in meetings with other engineers, Gene Kranz, the Flight Director, and astronaut Ken Mattingly, the command module pilot who was replaced at the last minute because of an exposure to the measles. Bernard will share his personal knowledge about astronaut training, the Apollo XIII rescue efforts and some of the amazing and extraordinary achievements of the men and woman who helped put an American on the moon at a time when this county was in a national security race for space supremacy. Our October speaker will be Senator Craig Estes.
REMINDERS The deadline for our luncheon reservations is noon Tuesday, September, 13. The hospitality chairman turns in the number of meals to our caterer that day. The menu will be chicken Alfredo, sautéed green beans, salad, plus desserts made by one of our fabulous members. ELECTION 2016 WHAT CAN I DO? We have a nominee for President and Vice-President and we all need to help elect our nominee to further our Republican values. Have you asked yourself What can I do? As the old saying goes, "We can't do everything, but we can do something." What is right for you? Some of the possibilities will be in this section from now until Election Day. Please find an activity that fits your talents, abilities, and availabilities. We don't want to awake on the morning of November 9 and wish we had done more! Checklist Be informed. Know the important points in this election Volunteer at the Republican Headquarters Talk to your friends locally, statewide, out of state Become a Deputy Voter Registrar. This is done at our County Elections Office Be sure that all of those around you are registered to vote. Carefully select your news source and weigh it against the truth Block walk with friends Make calls from your home Go on a strike force Volunteer to work the "Get Out the Vote" events Stay positive and avoid the negative. Attend our local events - BLRWW meetings, Parker County Party meetings and invite others Talk with younger voters Put a sign in your yard Other
