1 DIPLOMA IN REIKI The main aim of the Diploma in Reiki is to enable Candidates to gain the practical and theoretical skills necessary to provide Reiki treatments for the purposes of relaxation and stress release. The basis of all good Reiki treatment routines lies in a complete knowledge by the Therapist of the anatomical structures and systems in the area to be treated, coupled with a thorough understanding of the abilities, functions and scope of Reiki treatments. This unit will enable the Candidate to prepare for and provide Reiki treatments designed to meet the needs of the Client, whilst working in a safe and secure manner. This unit will assist in providing understanding of the organisational skills required, and technical processes and procedures involved in providing Reiki treatments. It will provide the foundation knowledge required to enable the Candidate to identify possible contra-indications to treatment, as well as indications for, and benefits and effects of, professional Reiki treatments. Upon completion of this qualification candidates will be able to work as a Reiki practitioner at Therapy Centres offering Reiki treatments, which may include NHS providers. Candidates will be able to apply for membership to professional bodies representing the complementary therapy sector such as CNHC (Complementary and Natural Health Council) Progression from this qualification could include Level 3 diplomas in other complementary and body therapies such as Level 3 Diploma in Lymphatic Drainage Massage Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 3 Diploma in Spa therapy Or progression to study at level 4 such as Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management The qualification consists of seven mandatory units and is equivalent to a Level Three on the Qualification and Credit Framework. The folder should be large enough to hold all of this evidence generated, a lever arch folder is usually sufficient. If more than one qualification is being studied for, it is often possible to put all of the evidence in one folder keeping it organised and clearly identified, with the use of dividers. To remove the need to duplicated evidence it is important to be aware that if any units of study are replicated between qualifications being studied it is highly recommended that the evidence is only produced once but clearly signposted for an examiner to find.
