When we moved to this site in 2007 we had 136 pupils, the School has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years and achieved our Outstanding rating by Ofsted in Three Ways continues to be a very popular school with our pupil numbers rising to 207 in September. Now known as my almost retirement! I will be working part time next year as executive Head Teacher and will continue to have responsibility for the strategic direction of the School. The day to day management of the School will be in the very safe hands of my deputy, Jo Stoaling who will take on the role of acting Head Teacher. Katie Brockway will be the Acting Deputy Head Teacher. Thank you so much for all your support over many years and I look forward to working with you in a different role next year. 2 Parent/Carer Questionnaires Thank you to all the parents/carers who completed the questionnaire. They will be really helpful in the future planning of the school. Thank you for all the positive, lovely comments. The raffle prize was won by Ms Johnson. Feedback from the questionnaires can be found on our website under the parent section. Staff Changes There are a few staff leaving this year. Assistant Head Teacher, Ben Edwards has a new job in Cornwall as a Deputy Head Teacher, we will also have to say goodbye to his wife Rachel Edwards who is leaving her outreach job with Brighter Futures. They have both been at the School for many years and given so much to Three Ways, we will be very sad to see them go but I know it will be a new challenges for them in Cornwall and I am told you can see the sea from Mr Edwards new School, sounds wonderful. The following teaching assistants will also be leaving for new challenges Emma Carpenter To train to be a teacher Sian Bristow To train to be a teacher Juliette Marsh - To train to be an Art Therapist Sarah Johnson Is moving back to Ireland with her husband Shane Smith Moving to a new job nearer his home Carlotta Finch (Support Assistant) - Moving to a new job Sarah Carter school cook and Katie Hyden kitchen assistant are both leaving to take up new jobs. Our two students who have been with us all year on placements, Dylan Thomas and Katherine Lawford return to University. Best wishes to all the staff who are leaving for new challenges, exciting times ahead. Pupils Leaving It Is always very sad to be saying goodbye to many pupils as they move on to College or to new placements. Please keep in touch we love to hear how well you do. 13th July saw the launch of 3 Café/Kitchen. The mayor came along to cut the ribbon and many of the people that helped us to make our café project a reality came along to celebrate with us. It was a lovely evening with great food produced by Mark and Becky. The Café will be open during the summer holidays so please bring your family and friends for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. The outside area is now finished so if the weather is good it is a great opportunity to come and have a look and have a coffee outside. 3 Rotary Gardening Competition On Thursday the annual class gardening competition takes place. The competition is supported and judged by the Rotary Club. The theme this year is colour with a sensory focus. Photographs will be put on the website so please have a look. Summer Fayre Thank you to the PTFA for all their hard work in making 2017 summer fayre a great success. We are hoping to have raised over 2,500, so thank you. Everyone who helped on the day or came along and spent money. We really appreciate all your support. Capital Project Good news! We have just heard that we have been successful in our bid to the local authority to build a Modular building that will have 2 additional classrooms. It will be built on land between Three Ways School and Aspire School. It is subject to planning but we are very excited that Three Ways may have a new opportunity to grow as we now have families requesting places that we are unable to take because we are full.

4 Primary News I hope all the children in the Primary Department have had an exciting summer term. We have certainly packed in so much, but the children have risen to the challenges and it has been a delight to watch them. Here are a few examples of some experiences the children have been part of Otters class have had a very busy time gardening and entered the local Bath & District Horticultural Society Competition. We had two entries; Garden in a wheelbarrow and Unusual Container of which Otters came first in both categories. Well done Otters! Hedgehog class have had a fantastic year! We have spent lots of time developing our friendships and turn taking skills. As well as making friends with children from another school where they have enjoyed our termly play dates. Dormice class have had a lovely few weeks. We have enjoyed sports day, a Samba drumming workshop, launching little houses using helium balloons during Science week, meeting our new class mates and the watching the performance of We re Going on a Bear Hunt put on by the sixth from at St Greg s. Deer Class have had a wonderful last term together. We have been making the most of the sunny days and getting creative with gardening and plant pot decorating! We have all had a fantastic year together and have made great friends and learnt many new skills along the way. We are very excited about our new classes and getting involved in lots of exciting new learning activities next year. Well done Deer Class!

5 Secondary News July 2017 What a fantastic success the 2017 Secondary and 6th From Sports Day was! For the first time in Three Ways history we decided to let the older pupils lose on the water slide and fun levels went through the roof. Pupils engaged in all kinds of activities from making human pyramids, to taking penalty kicks again Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth! A great day was had by all and special thanks to everyone who came along and supported including the volunteers from Bath Rugby's Community Foundation (bathrugbyfoundation.com) and our local sports leaders organisation 'Get Sported' ( Throughout this academic year a number of secondary classes have been working with students from Monkton School. It has been a lovely project and over the course of the terms we have watched friendships form as the children have been playing sport together at here at Three Ways. The project ended this term with Monkton hosting a triathlon event in their grounds. For most of our children it was their very first triathlon and an experience they will remember because it so much fun.

6 JK Class have had a very exciting end to a fabulous year enjoying lots of Story Sharing, Toastie making and trips into the community. Our favourite trip has been going to the Swallow café in Radstock where our students were very independent in choosing what they wanted to buy, paying for their goodies and sitting together enjoying a social 'hang out'! It s been a wonderful summer term for Wallace and Gromit Class. So many wonderful events including Willow weaving, planting and growing for the Rotary Club gardening competition, the Bath Rugby Summer Scrum and attending the Forest of Imagination. For most children the highlight of the term was taking part in the Inclusive Water Sports Event, in Bristol. Every student took part in at least one competitive event against schools from across Bath and Bristol. As a team they came away with 12 medals in Rowing, Sailing and Canoeing. We are proud of the whole group and how they embraced the new challenge and cheered each Class 15 went to Brokerswood Camp near Frome for an overnight stay. We took part in archery, fishing and bush craft sessions and a good time was had by all.

7 Bestival WOW! What a final term it has been for Bestival class. We have had picnics, been bowling and to Avon Valley. All pupils have enjoyed all their trips especially seeing the pig racing at Avon Valley. This final week of the year brings many exciting occasions from a celebration assembly to the 6 th form BBQ and then finally the leavers assembly on Friday! All Bestival staff want to wish Ryan, Dan, Candy and Matthew the best of luck at college and we know you will enjoy meeting new friends. Have a lovely summer and well done for all your hard work this year! Miss Muse Shambala On Thursday Class 18 are going out bowling and for lunch to celebrate the end of a great year. Pupils from our class also attended the Bath Carnival on Saturday to wave at everyone from the Carnival VIP bus. This was great fun! The St Greg's performance of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' went very well. Some of Shambala performed with Bestival class last week. The performed in front of a number of Three Ways classes and then again to St Greg s students and parents. A great success! All the pupils are looking forward to their leavers' barbecue and signing each other s' t-shirts. Good luck to our six leaving pupils Holly, Ed, Patryk, Ben, Emily and May. 'Download class have been loving the new sunny weather by embracing it during our lessons. We have visited a recycling center, parks, Bradford on Avon, numerous cafes and gone for many walks interpenetrating our PSHE, literacy and numeracy lessons and putting our skills into practice! We have also been learning about Superheros and have watched superhero films, made profiles of the characters, designed our own superheros, planned and written a story about them and then acted them out! We loved this activity!'
