2 The National Science Foundation GK-12 program at Drexel University in the College of Engineering titled "Catalyzing STEM Education via the NAE Grand Challenges" pairs graduate students from the College of Engineering at Drexel with School District of Philadelphia high school science teachers to help introduce engineering into the science curriculum through the context of the National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges. Similarly, Drexel University s DragonsTeach program supported by the National Math and Science Initiative and the UTeach Institute offers Drexel STEM undergraduate students the opportunity to earn their teaching certification while completing their major degree requirements the undergraduate students are paired with School District K -12 teachers and begin delivering inquiry-based STEM lessons to K-12 students from the very first DragonsTeach course. Middle school and high school science teachers are invited to attend and learn how to do inquiry-based STEM activities in their own classrooms, specifically lessons in line with the NGSS that connect engineering with the middle and high school curriculum.
