28 JEJU National University Hospital Surrounded by pristine nature, a Total Medical Center with the most advance medical service The concept of medical service is rapidly changing, with an opening in the medical market near at hand. In order to remain competitive in the market, in which overseas hospitals with high quality service and expertise are expected to enter, the quality of medical service has been increasingly emphasized. If hospitals focused on hospital-oriented medical service in the past, Jeju National University Hospital, rated as the Best Hospital in the certification criteria conducted by the Ministry of Health & Welfare, strives to provide a patient-oriented total service combining medical treatment and recreation to satisfy the psychological needs of patients, not to mention medical treatment aspects. Jeju National University Hospital is well positioned to offer an advanced total medical service, which includes not only high quality medical expertise comparable with services offered at hospitals in the U.S., Singapore, and Thailand which boast heavy marketing promotions, but also recreational service. Jeju National University Hospital, also known as the Hospital in the Forest (named after its new location in 2009), is well on the road to become one of the nation s representative hospitals, owing to its highly advanced medical equipment, highly skilled medical staff, and patient-oriented medical service, vital features which put it well ahead of overseas hospitals poised to enter the Korean medical market.
