5 KRANTIGURU SHYANJI KRISHNA VERMA Ph.D. Entrance Examination- March-2012 The KSKV Kachchh University invites Application in prescribed form for the Entrance Examination for Ph.D. Courses in various disciplines. The Application forms will be accepted latest by 26 th March 2012 up to 4:00 pm. The entrance examination is scheduled on 31 st March 2012 at the University campus. Entrance examination for Ph.D. courses will be held in following subjects: Sr. No. Subjects Category wise vacant seat/seats available SC ST SEBC GENEREL TOTAL 1 English Sanskrit Economics Chemistry Geology Hindi Environment Science Mathematics Political Science Sociology Commerce A Candidate holding recognized Master Degree or recognized equivalent to Master Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST Candidates) or equivalent grades is eligible for entrance examination for Ph.D. The students who have cleared UGC /CSIR (JRF) Examinations/ NET/SET/SLET/GATE/ JEST are exempted from the Ph.D. entrance test. However it is mandatory for them to apply for Ph.D. course in the prescribed form available from the University latest by 26 th March 2012 There will be two papers: Paper (I) and (II) Paper - I will be common for all subjects. Paper 1: General Aptitude Test which will have 100 questions with multiple choice covering Logical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Analytical Reasoning, General knowledge and Language Aptitude. (Examination time 2:00 hrs) (Examination Time 11:00 to 01:00) Paper II: Subject Specific Test: This paper will be also of 100 marks with multiple choice questions. (Examination time 2:00 hrs) There will be 0.25 nagative marking for wrong answer. The cut off percentage will be decided from time to time. 4 (Examination Time 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm) A merit list of the successful candidates will be declared by the university. The result will be made available online on the university website. Passing the entrance examination does not give guarantee to a student to be registered for Ph.D. programme. The entrance examination result will be valid for two years from the date of passing.
