1 Thank yu fr yur interest in applying fr the HBCU Tur March 25 March 30, Twelve (12) Cntra Csta students will be selected t attend the HBCU tur, led by Educatinal Student Turs. Interested students MUST APPLY and meet minimum eligibility criteria. A HBCU review cmmittee f faculty, staff, and administratrs will make final selectins based n strength and quality f applicatin. Students wh are nt selected will be placed n a waitlist. This tur includes students frm Cntra Csta Cllege (CCC), Diabl Valley Cllege (DVC), Ls Medans (LMC), and San Dieg Cmmunity Clleges. Abut the Trip: Students will depart Oakland Internatinal Airprt t Baltimre/Washingtn Internatinal Airprt n Sunday, March 25 and return Friday March 30, Students are respnsible fr their wn transprtatin t and frm Oakland Airprt. Students frm CCC will be accmpanied by Andrea S. Phillips, MA/MS, Transfer Cunselr/Crdinatr & TBD. Each cllege will have a chaperne attending. Students will travel n chartered tur buses t clleges and histric sites n the itinerary (attached). Clleges included n tur are: Clark- Atlanta, Mrehuse, Spelman, Edward Waters University, Flrida A &M, Suthern, Dillard, and Xavier Universities. Students will als visit the MLK JR Center and Whitney Plantatin. Students will share a htel rm, 3 students per rm, and each student will have his/her wn bed. Depending n the gender breakdwn f CCC students selected t attend, CCC students may als have a rmmate frm anther cllege. A mandatry pre-departure rientatin meeting with the tur directrs will be scheduled prir t the trip (date t be determined). All participants must attend. Students will be required t sign an excursin waiver frm, cnsent/release frm, and medical cnsent frm, and prvide cpies f their fficial CA r PASSPORT identificatin (fr airline ticketing purpses). The CCC chaperne and tur directrs will receive cpies f this infrmatin. A mandatry Parent/Guardian/ Student and CCC Chaperne meeting will be scheduled. Depending n the number and quality f applicatins received, applicants may be required t participate in an interview. Please reserve the week f January 8 Jan 12, 2018 fr ptential interviews with the HBCU selectin cmmittee. Minimum Eligibility criteria include: Cmpleted 20 r mre transferable units at the time f applicatin (students with mre transfer units will have higher pririty); Enrlled in/cmpletin f English 1A r a transferable Math 2.5 CUMULATIVE TRANSFERABLE GPA r higher at the time f applicatin & maintained thrugh final Fall semester 2017 grades.
