3 EquiLateral Protocol Training Program Course Syllabus and Outline This specialized and unique training will take participants step-by-step through the eight phases of EMDR with an equine, covering the how to s of integrating EMDR and EAP through the EquiLateral Protocol. In addition, participants will learn the integration of EMDR and EAP, as it applies to their practice, through hands-on practice sessions, online interactive lectures, Q and A discussions, coaching and in-depth reviews of case examples. Attendees will receive The Equine- Assisted EMDR Manual & Horses Hearing the Unspeakable ebooks as part of the attendance cost. Note: Training in EquiLateral and EA-EMDR does not constitute training as an EMDR practitioner nor does it constitute EMDR Certification. Certain requirements and restrictions may apply. Minimum Qualifications This training is intended for those EMDR Therapists who have completed the EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training and their Equine Professional Partners OR those EMDR Therapists who are dually EAP and EMDR trained. Participants will be EquiLateral Trained at the completion of this program and upon successful completion of all course requirements. (CEU s & EMDRIA Credits are pending. Please see note section for additional information) For The EMDR Therapist (EMDRT) Documented completion of an EMDRIA Approved Basic Training, EAP certification, training, or notarized documentation of a minimum of 20 hours of experience practicing a current EAP model OR has a qualified Equine-Specialist/Professional partner in attendance for the entire course. Note: EMDR therapists trained prior to 2007 are to be well versed in the most recent updates to EMDR and the Adaptive Information Processing model including case-conceptualization skills such as target sequence planning (EMDR Treatment Planning), as well as being well-versed in the three-pronged approach, and EMDR s eight phases. For The Equine Professional (EP) EAP certification, training, or notarized documentation of a minimum of 20 hours of experience practicing a current EAP model. If the EP is not dually trained as an EMDRT, an EMDRT partner must be in attendance for the entire course.

4 EquiLateral Objectives and Course Outline Assist the practitioner to identify clients who would benefit from the EquiLateral Equine- Assisted EMDR Protocol including those in need of additional grounding, attachment, and affect tolerance skills To learn equine-assisted approaches to resource development and installation (RDI) To be able to integrate the equine to support EMDR case conceptualization and EMDR treatment planning To be able to identify how interactions with an equine support clients accessing maladaptively stored material, both implicit and explicit To be able to identify and create opportunities for equine-assisted cognitive interweaves To learn alternative forms of bilateral stimulation (BLS) that can be adapted to fit the practitioners chosen approach to EAP To understand and demonstrate the benefits and processes for integrating EAP throughout EMDR s eight-phases To identify ways client s experiences with horses, throughout the EquiLateral Protocol, can be leveraged both in and out of the arena, in and out of office, and between sessions, to further facilitate trauma desensitization and reprocessing To identify how continued co-consultation in EA-EMDR develops and expands clinical expertise as well as business and financial opportunities for EMDRT s and EP s in partnership (Part II) Practice EMDRT Online Webinar May Online Webinar July EquiLateral and the On Site Practicum November On Site Practicum November Teleseminars June, August, September and October EP Dually Trained Trauma 101/ EquiLateral & the EquiLateral & the Fees include The Equine-Assisted EMDR Manual & Horses Hearing the Unspeakable ebooks, webinars, teleseminars, and two day practicum in Scottsdale, AZ and CEU s (Pending): $1500 (excludes travel, accommodations and additional EMDR/EAP required reading indicated below)
