2 E-Learning (CBT) Delivery This additional module provides the facility to deliver E- Learning packages. Computer Based Training / E-Learning packages are linked to items of Set Training via the Redkite PDS Tracker Editors. If Redkite Question Master is available, then an assessment may also be linked to the end of a Computer Based Training / E-Learning package. To link a CBT file or CBT URL to an item of Set Training: 1. Select Editors / Training 2. Select the Set Training you wish to link the CBT file or CBT URL to 3. Click Edit The Edit Training screen will be displayed. 4. Link the CBT File or CBT URL To link a CBT File: i. Select File Upload ii. Click Upload CBT iii. Click Browse and locate the CBT file iv. Click Upload To link a CBT URL: i. Select URL ii. Enter the URL where the CBT URL can be found iii. Click Test URL to test the link NOTE you can only link one CBT file to an item of set training. The Edit Training screen will be displayed showing the linked CBT file or CBT URL. Section 12 Page 2

3 NOTE if Redkite Question Master is installed then a Linked assessment box will appear giving you the opportunity to link an active assessment to the end of this Computer Based Training / E-Learning package. To link an assessment: Select the assessment you wish to link from the pull down list. 5. Click Save To remove a linked CBT file: 1. Click Clear CBT You will be asked Remove the uploaded CBT file? 2. Click OK The linked CBT file (and linked assessment) will be removed from the piece of Set Training. To remove a linked CBT URL: 1. Delete the CBT URL The linked CBT URL (and linked assessment) will be removed from the piece of Set Training. Section 12 Page 3

4 CBT Delivery Assessor Login CBT / E-Learning package only For some CBT / E-Learning packages an assessor may be required to log into the system prior to the CBT / E-Learning package being delivered. Assessor Login CBT / E-learning package only: 1. Enter username and password The Select Personnel screen will be displayed. 2. Select the personnel who will be undertaking the CBT / E-Learning package 3. Click Next The Training Selection screen will be displayed. 4. If appropriate select the Category and Area the training package belongs to 5. Select the Training Package 6. Click Next The Confirmation screen will be displayed showing the selected CBT / E-Learning package and selected personnel. 7. Click Next to open and view the CBT / learning package NOTE your browser will attempt to open the CBT / E- Learning package. If prompted select Open to view. On closing the CBT / E-Learning package the Update Records screen will be displayed. You will be asked Did you download and view the CBT lecture? 8. Select YES to update the records of the selected personnel Select NO to return to the CBT menu screen without updating the selected personnel s records. Section 12 Page 4

5 On selecting YES the Update Records screen will be displayed. NOTE all selected personnel will have a Not Assessed grey status light by default. 9. Highlight the individual(s) 10. Click Complete or Requires Training, as appropriate Complete = green light Requires Training = red light Not Assessed = grey light If the System Option Allow users to upload documents on activity update is set to YES then you will be given the opportunity to upload attachments. The attachments must initially reside in a folder on the local PC or network from where they will be copied and uploaded to the Redkite PDS web server. To add attachments: i) Click Attachments ii) iii) iv) Click Add Click Browse and browse to the location where the attachment you wish to upload is stored. Highlight the attachment and click Open to ensure the file appears in the window Click Upload The selected file will now be uploaded. Note that you are restricted to files with the extension.pdf,.doc,.xls and.wav and the file size may not exceed 8Mb. When viewing attached files only the person who entered the information at this stage, any staff who have been updated, associated verifiers and system administrators have access to read the documents. To remove a file that has been attached in error at this point: i) Highlight the file in the list of Attachments and click Remove. Note that you cannot remove attached evidence once the activity update has been completed and the records have been saved. 11. Click Save Section 12 Page 5

6 The Confirmation screen will be displayed confirming that the records of the selected personnel have been updated. 12. Click Log out to log out of the Redkite CBT /E-Learning Delivery Module Click Return to return to the CBT menu and select another CBT / E-Learning package Select Question Master to launch Redkite Question Master. 7 CBT Delivery Candidate Login CBT / E-Learning package only Candidate Login CBT / E-Learning package only: 1. Enter username and password The Training Selection screen will be displayed. 2. If appropriate select the Category and Area the training package belongs to 3. Select the Training Package 4. Click Next The Confirmation screen will be displayed. You will be asked to confirm that you will view the complete CBT / E-Learning package and acknowledge that on completion of the CBT your Redkite portfolio will be automatically updated to show that you have viewed it. 5. Click Next to open and view the CBT / E- Learning package NOTE your browser will attempt to open the CBT / learning package. If prompted select Open to view. Click Back to return to the selection menu. 6. On closing the CBT / learning package the Update Records screen will be displayed. You will be asked Did you download and view the CBT lecture? 7. Select YES to update your Redkite records. This will write a Not Assessed input against the selected Set Training. Select NO to return to the CBT menu screen without updating your records. Enter username and password The Select Personnel screen will be displayed. 2. Select the personnel who will be undertaking the CBT / E-Learning package 3. Click Next The Training Selection screen will be displayed. 4. If appropriate select the Category and Area the training package belongs to 5. Select the Training Package 6. Click Next The Confirmation screen will be displayed showing the selected CBT / E-Learning package and selected personnel. 7. Click Next to open and view the CBT / E-Learning package NOTE your browser will attempt to open the CBT / E-Learning package. If prompted select Open to view. On closing the CBT / E-Learning package the Update Records screen will be displayed. You will be asked Did you download and view the CBT lecture? 8. Select Yes, Assessment or No Select YES to update the records of the selected personnel (see page 5) Select ASSESSMENT to undertake the linked assessment. NOTE on completion of the assessment an input will be written to any mapped training / criteria based on the outcome. Click the Return To CBT button to return to the Personnel Selection screen or click Close Program Select NO to return to the CBT menu screen without updating the selected personnel s records.
