2 Common Admission Application System Apply Texas (AT) Originally, only for general academic teaching institutions; now, all public higher education institutions must accept AT freshman and transfer applications. For the academic year: 1,454,500 applications submitted 665,000 applicants 140 participating colleges and universities 1,400 participating school districts 2

3 Apply Texas Major Components 1. Advisory Committee (Apply Texas Advisory Committee, or ATAC) 2. Portal for colleges to update forms and assist students with applications (apps) 3. Portal for completing apps for admission 4. High School (HS) counselor portal for assessing student progress 5. Apply Texas Counts freshman, transfer and dual credit app data 3

8 Applicant Portal Applicants create a Profile of basic demographic information, are assigned a userid & password, and then: 1. select application type, semester/year, and institution 2. complete the application form 3. sign confirmation page 4. click on submit 8

9 High School Counselor Access All data is password-protected. How to get a password: 1. District gives ESC Regional Contact (RC) a list of eligible counselors 2. RC enters names, addresses into System 3. System sends counselors a temporary password 4. Counselor logs in, signs a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Certification, sets up permanent password 5. Certification and access must be renewed each year 9

10 College Staff Access See Document 1 Access is password-protected. How college staff gets access: Colleges identify Gatekeepers when joining the program. Gatekeepers grant access to other college staff via the administrative suite Manage Authorizations menu Executive Updaters update application forms, including payment processing and scholarship information Application Viewers cannot change forms but can view them, search for applications, payments 10
