16 GOLD MEDAL AWARD RECIPIENTS The South Dakota Activities Association sponsored the Gold Medal Award since To qualify to receive this Gold Medal, an athlete must have the best time or greatest distance in each event, regardless of class. In the track Boys 100m Dash, if the Class AA winner s time is :11:26, the Class A winner s time is :14:40 and the Class B winner s time is :11:47, the Gold Medal would be awarded to the Class AA champion. That individual had the fastest time in the 100m Dash.
