This gives a truly international aspect to the degree and students often pursue careers overseas in this dynamic and expanding industry. Students on this course develop a range of kitchen and patisserie techniques supported by non-practical modules, in order to encourage development of knowledge in food microbiology, diet and nutrition and gastronomy. 6 D601 Food and Professional Cookery* Designed for those with an interest in professional cookery, this course will give you the education you will need to work successfully in industry, while giving you the knowledge and skills necessary to supervise or run your own kitchen. Code (Hons): D601 : Three years including one year work placement (Hons): Four years including one year work placement This course takes a practical approach to give you knowledge of the theories and concepts that underpin professional cookery.
