2 FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION University Of Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano Faculty of Economics and Business Administration The Faculty Loyal to the strong commitment the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University has devoted to institutional consolidation and academic excellence during the last sixty years, since its foundation, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration offers various programs oriented to the formation of competitive professionals, empowered with analytical abilities and an innovative spirit and capable to manage successfully the challenges they are to face in their work life. The Faculty s challenges extend far beyond contributing to the academic and personal development of its students, since its main goal is to prepare competent professionals, qualified to contribute to Colombia s development, as well as succeed in the labor market upon completion of their studies. Faculty s Mission The Faculty s mission is to preserve, create and extend knowledge related to the areas it is responsible for, and meet the necessities of society in the disciplines of econom-

As well, the Faculty educates competitive human beings, with high educational quality standards; innovates in teaching-learning processes conducting research into the frontiers of the sciences that support the areas; delivers the services of education, research, consultancy and social extension services required by the country. Programs The Faculty has six undergraduate programs: Business Administration, Public Accounting, Economics, International Trade, Agricultural Management and Marketing, as well as a master s program in International Trade; currently the Faculty is preparing the Master s degree programs in economics and marketing. The Faculty also offers various graduated diploma courses, such as Tax Management and Auditing, Occupational Health Management, Management and Audit of Health Quality, Financial Management, Health Economics and Management, International Business Management, Accounting and Auditing International Standards, Governance and Public Administration Management, Human Resources Management, Economics and Management of Health, National and International Commercial Logistics Management, Accounting and Auditing International Standards, International Business Management and Marketing Management. Business Administration Program Mission The program s mission is to form professionals with high ethical standards, outstanding knowledge on organizations and excellent managerial competences, who also contribute significantly to the solution of businesses problems, work toward the improvement of their social environment, and support the development of entrepreneurial initiatives. Professional Profile The Business Administration graduate from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University is a person who appropriates the knowledge related to organizational and management theories, highly committed to protect the environment, a professional who is able to comprehend organizations, in order to intervene in their performance aiming to achieve survival, growth and profitability goals. Public Accounting Program Mission The program s mission is to form individuals with a solid professional knowledge on Accounting information and control, oriented to deliver confidence to the diverse 3

Professional Profile The public accountant graduated from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University is a professional empowered with a solid theoretical and practical knowledge on accounting information and control, as well as competencies in connection thereto. Acknowledging that information derived from accounting is the basis for preparation and analysis of financial and non-financial accounting reports for all stakeholders, the Program considers that, in general, a public accountant must prove his strengths in the field of accounting information. Such information is governed by financial accounting standards, both domestically and internationally, precisely to make decisions on increasingly reliable bases in ever changing markets that use a common language. International Trade Program Mission The program s mission is to form trustworthy, critical and creative professionals capable of assuming the challenges arising from the internationalization of markets. The program delivers education on trade theory and policy, and develops competences on leadership, management and trade management, thus its graduated are in the capacity to understand, investigate, innovate, propose and contribute to the dynamics of organizations, governments and national and international institutions, acting ethically and responsibly, as they are committed to the economic, commercial, social and environmental development of Colombia. Professional Profile The graduates from the International Trade Program have a theoretical formation that
5 Faculty of Economics and Business Administration allows them to deliver in areas such as trade theory and policy, whether in governmental trade agencies or institutions that regulates trade policies. Also, the Program s graduates possess a high knowledge on the areas of management, international businesses and finance that allows them to work at multinational firms supporting the processes of internationalization of markets or international finance issues. Last, besides the practical contents of the program, its graduates are capable of working in processes related to logistics and trade management. In this sense, the program s graduates are integral, multidisciplinary, ethical professionals committed to the economic, commercial and social development of Colombia. Economics Program Mission The program s mission is to form ethical and upright economists committed to the search of greater social welfare, with a solid education on economic theory, situation, short-term and finance analyses, capable of comprehending the problems of their environment and provide feasible solutions to the needs of organizations and society. projects and businesses, as well as that of SMEs (small and mid-sized enterprises).
