3 Thinking of a Major in Business? Are you interested in exploring business, but don t know which major? Business majors in the School of Business require the same Business Core Curriculum The Core Business Courses Include: FIN 217 ACC 20 ACC 204 ACC 110 & 111 MKT 205 FIN 207 MGT 01 FIN 10 MGT 0 Statistical Analysis & Business Decisions I Financial Accounting Managerial Accounting Computer Applications in Business (each is a 1 credit self-paced program that is to be taken concurrently with ACC 20 and 204) Principles of Marketing Managerial Finance I Organizational Behavior Operations Management I Legal Environment for Business I The Business Core Curriculum also includes some courses that meet the College Core Curriculum requirements. These include: ECN 101 ECN 102 MTH 107/MTH 108* Principles of Economics Micro Principles of Economics Macro Mathematics for Business Analysis I/ II The following courses are typically taken by freshmen and sophomores majoring in business: ECN 101 & 102 MTH 107 (minimum requirement for business majors; MTH 108 or higher is recommended for Accountancy, Finance and Management majors)* MKT 205 FIN 217 ACC 20 & 204 ACC 110 & 111 All Providence College School of Business (PCSB) students are required to demonstrate proficiency in finite mathematics. As a result, all new and incoming business students must successfully complete MTH 107 (or higher) and ALEKS. ALEKS is an on-line math learning and assessment tool which is used to measure math proficiency and help bring students up to the expected levels on finite math topics. PCSB students will need to complete ALEKS at the 80 th percentile by the first day of classes.
