2 Overview Why study business or commerce at the Monash Business School? When it comes to choosing which degree is best, think about whether students would like to specialise in a particular discipline early, or whether they would prefer to leave options open and decide later. Eight business specified study units One business major (eight units) Eight electives (which can be used towards a second major, a minor or can be selected from units offered across the university) Contemporary teaching practices, for example: problem-based learning mode at Peninsula campus STARLab: a purpose-built lab that complements classroom teaching by simulating a financial environment in which textbook concepts are brought to life Business Behavioural Lab: an innovative facility for consumer and practitioner research into judgement and decision making Flipped classroom in some units learn theory online, then attend practical tutorials on campus Offers choice and flexibility: Offers a wide range of majors Choose a major straight away or wait until second year, after sampling study areas through business specified study units Option to study a second major or double degree. Students will learn about key banking and finance concepts, and how to assess the financial needs of companies and individuals and match them to suitable financial products. Graduates will be qualified to work in banking and finance environments, in roles such as portfolio manager, business banker, funds manager or loan adviser. International business develops knowledge and skills for the international economic, financial, political, legal, managerial and strategic environment of business. I could study two majors or chose from a variety of elective units. Being able to study multiple majors is a fantastic opportunity.
