3 International Business Studies Business Consultancy international, or BCi for short, is a first class business studies degree programme. The goal of the programme is to provide high calibre students with an excellent launching pad to a career in international business. The BCi master s degree was introduced in 2007, as a followon degree from the extremely successful BCi bachelor degree. It is a two-year, four-semester programme and comprises a total of 120 credits, which means that it conforms fully to the Bologna Accord. As a master s degree, its focus is on specialisation, and in providing students with a solid foundation in research methodology, both quantitative and qualitative. The two specialisations currently on offer are International Accounting and Finance, and International Marketing and Sales. The master s students are given an opportunity to spend an exchange semester at a partner university during their second semester. In the final semester, the programme includes a mandatory study trip to one of the major financial and business centres of the world. BCi has carved out a name for itself in the business and financial community as an ideal education for a business career. This has been achieved through an uncompromising approach to quality and standards. The accreditation of the programme by FIBAA, a Swiss-German agency which audits business programmes on the basis of quality criteria, bears testimony to this effort. In the BCi programme, we combine a general business education for all students with a certain amount of specialisation based on students areas of interest. MBCi - ambitions become reality. 4 Get to know your study programme. The Business Consultancy International (BCi) master s degree programme is an internationallyoriented programme taught entirely in English. It provides a particularly stimulating environment in which students from many different nations and cultural backgrounds work together with an international faculty. The 2-year programme prepares students for future leadership positions with global companies, in finance and accounting as well as in marketing and sales. The Business Consultancy International master s programme, specialising in International Accounting and Finance, aims to develop broad competencies in the areas of accounting, treasury and finance as well as management and consulting in an international environment. The International Marketing and Sales specialisation of the Business Consultancy International master s programme aims to develop business competencies in the areas of international brand management, marketing communications, sales management, and marketing analytics. Multi-cultural microcosm The BCi postgraduate programme is relatively small - each year about 40 students are admitted, from up to 15 countries, and each semester they are joined by a number of rotating exchange students from our partner universities. The study programme requires a great deal of interaction between the students, which intensifies multi-cultural tolerance and cooperation. The teaching-staff of the programme is also international. Many of the lecturers are employed in international companies and provide their expertise to the students on an external basis. In addition, a number of professors come from foreign universities Arkansas State, Georgia Tech. (USA), New Brunswick (Canada), Torino (Italy), and University of Limerick (Ireland) to teach courses as part of the BCi programme. //. Exchange semester The exchange semester at a partner university is an opportunity available to all successful students in the second semester of their studies. The university currently has over 60 partner universities scattered around the globe; many of them offer an exchange opportunity at master s level. Students who can take this opportunity are exempted from the academic programme in Wiener Neustadt; a matching substitute programme in the partner university is completed instead. In this way, the study-abroad semester does not extend the duration of the degree programme. The exchange semester is not compulsory. //. Practise At master s level, greater importance is placed on case studies, projects and presentations, based on directed self-study. This enhances the ability to work, analyse and research independently. In a final capstone consultancy course, the entire master s class is divided into consultancy teams. Each team has the task of acting as consultants on a specific project for an actual start-up company. //. Social skills The importance of personal skills, including communication skills, should not be underestimated. Most functions in business involve inter-personal communication, team projects, successful presentations, or other cooperative activities. The BCi programme provides instruction in a number of key communicative and social skills. These ensure that all BCi graduates are able to perform business activities with a large degree of professional competence.

The program was highly analytical as well as practical, preparing me for a challenging business environment. All applications are submitted online, including all necessary documentation. STEP 2. Selected applicants will be invited to the entrance interview. STEP 3. Students will then be ranked on application information and test results. STEP 4. Accepted students will receive confirmation approximately 2 weeks following the interview, and be asked to sign an Acceptance of study place form which must be returned to the FH. STEP 5.
