In the 190 s and 1930 s, SJTU was crowned as the oriental MIT, having adapted and implemented one of the world s most advanced teaching and research centers. So far, SJTU has educated nearly 300,000 outstanding graduates for the country. Among them are former Chinese president Jiang Zemin and the The Father of the Chinese Aerospace Qian Xuesen. SJTU is a comprehensive university and offers a wide range of academic programs from engineering, bio-medicine, and management to law, economics, humanities and social sciences. In addition, SJTU s student body has more than 5500 international students each year. 5 1.Master & PhD Program in Food Safety and Nutrition (Taught in English) The program of Food Safety and Nutrition is specially designed for international students to fulfill the huge demand in the global market. Its main research focus includes the fields of Food Safety and Microbiology, Food Chemistry and Nutrition, and Food Processing and Preservation. This program features internationalized training, interdisciplinary studies, and a combination of practice and training. Graduates of this program can get deep insight into the food safety situation of the Chinese and global market. Graduates will also gain professional knowledge and innovative abilities in food science and engineering and that will equip them with the vocational competence to operate in any capacity in the Food Science field. 04

8 .Master & PhD Program in Horticulture Landscape and Ecology (Taught in English) This is a diverse program at SJTU and includes research in the fields of olericulture, pomology, ornamental botany, facility agriculture, pollution ecology and habitat control, urban forest ecology, crop ecology and pest control, environment ecology and agricultural resources utilization, landscape design, and ecological planning and design. Graduate students are required to grasp basic theories and specific knowledge of the subject matter and to gain insight into the forefront of the subject development. They are expected to be qualified with the competence of top talents in the field of Horticulture, Ecology, and Landscape Architecture.
