3 WORDS OF WELCOME Prof. Alexander Sukhodolov, Rector We are proud to present our two new Master`s Programs International Management and Banking and Finance which are announced for the first time in academic year. International educational program development and academic mobility of students and professors is our priority. It is a real pleasure to invite you to participate in these courses and study successfully. Prof. Tatiana Ozernikova, Vice-rector, Head of International Management Program The program provides our Master students with an opportunity for outstanding professional development. Students will have the chance to take advantage of the many benefits provided by the modern educational facilities that lead to distinguished outcomes. Our faculty is proud to be a part of this new educational project. We have prepared a modern study format with up-to-day teaching techniques, lecture and seminar content and in-company internship. Our faculty will share with you the latest and the most relevant ideas about international management. We believe that this program will contribute to your knowledge in multicultural business environment. Prof. Anna Kireenko, Head of Taxation and Customs Chair, Head of Banking and Finance Program Banking and finance industry faces radical changes and increasing complexity. The program delivers competences to students giving them a global perspective on banking and finance, the ability to make assessment in the field of bank management. The program offers workrelated education at university level. We hope that our future graduates will be very much in demand as employees. Every academic year the number of international students who wish to enter our University increases. Now we are happy to present a new program and therefore new possibilities.

4 WHY BSU? Baikal State University is a great choice for highly motivated young people interested in professional development in the economy with cross-cultural environment. The core mission of BSU is entering global higher education market with various contemporary Master`s programs and providing high quality of teaching and staff development. BSU has strong partnership relations with many foreign universities through educational activities, international research, faculty and students exchange. BSU today: total students; 1000 academic staff (including 125 Doctors habil. and 575 PhDs); 30 academic buildings provided with up-to-date educational facilities for students; a culture and leisure center with a movie hall; a computer network with 1500 PCs with free access to the Internet; a library containing books; 14 reading halls; cafes and canteens in all academic buildings. ABOUT THE PROGRAMS The concept and structure of the programs build on the wide experience of the world`s most successful programs for training specialists in international management and banking and finance. These Master`s programs are implemented within the framework of the newly established educational and research cooperation between BSU and a number of foreign universities (Warsaw School of Economics, Poland; University of Applied Science bfi Vienna, Austria). They offer work-related education at university level, all the advantages of basic theoretical education combined with practical implementation. International Management is a pioneer comprehensive program that prepares students for an international career in management. It has been developed to enhance the intercultural vision and skills of internationally-oriented management students, to empower them with good understanding of international market and corporate environment. It is an excellent foundation for tackling management tasks in industry, service sector or implementing academic aspirations in a doctoral thesis. Master`s degree is the basis for dealing with challenging management tasks on the global arena. The program will equip the students with leadership competence. Banking and Finance program aims at a solid professional and practical academic education so that the graduates can become qualified experts and managers. It covers the core banking processes customer and product management, treasury, compliance, cost accounting, controlling and risk management. This sophisticated education forms the basis for career prospects in banking and finance. These programs focus on international markets and global companies and teach how to analyze business environment, set and manage various scale businesses.

5 The course contents focus on global strategies, finance management, bank management and monetary policy. Students learn the effective techniques of decisionmaking, managing intercultural teams and relations. To foster professional experience, the course contents are built on series of business and academic projects. During in-company internships, the students will have an opportunity to apply their knowledge and gain insights into the challenges of entrepreneurship.
