3 Programme The curriculum of the Amsterdam MBA consists of four clusters that address key challenges for future leaders in business and society. In addition to having a profound knowledge of general management issues related to an organisation s strategy and operations, top managers require exceptional leadership skills, a profound understanding of the financial side of their business and an in-depth knowledge of emerging trends that sustainably impact both the economic landscape and the broader society. Therefore, we defined four clusters: (1) Leadership, (2) Strategy & Operations, (3) Finance & Accounting, and (4) Contemporary Management Issues. Full-time or part-time Curriculum The full-time MBA programme is a full working week programme, from Monday to Friday covering around hours per week. The part-time MBA programme is an evening programme, designed to allow students to work full-time while studying. In the part-time format, classes take place two evenings a week from 18:30-22:00h. Class preparation, casework and assignments will take a further hours a week. The international study trip to South Africa The international study trip is designed to give our students exposure to international business, particularly in emerging markets. The course comprises a one-week business trip in which students follow lectures at the University of Cape Town Business School and visit local companies and cultural events. The project involves research conducted inside a company during the summer prior to graduation, and culminating in a written, graded report. Part-time students can write the MBA In-Company Project for their current employer. Samples of our MBA In-Company Project companies: Avanade, TomTom, British American Tobacco, Philips and several start-up companies.

4 The MBA and your career Outlook Network Whether your goal is to accelerate your career within your sector or position, to switch to another industry, to set up your own venture, or to take over the family business, the resources and expertise available at our MBA Careers Office will send you on your way. Our MBA Career Managers will work with you throughout the programme to prepare you for re-entry to the job market and assist you in creating your own career opportunities. The MBA Career Managers work together with e.g. ING, Philips, Google, Microsoft, Tesla, Uber, Adidas, Booking.com, Nike and Shell. Degree Build your network and increase your chances on the job market. With an MBA degree from the University of Amsterdam, you will have access to an international network of alumni and companies. Upon graduation, you will be awarded the official Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree title from the University of Amsterdam.
