3 Substitute School Health Nurse (Job # I) Central Office Itinerant As Needed Basis Required Bachelor s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher education; holds a valid Registered Nurse (R.N.) License issued by the West Virginia Board of Examiners Successful completion of an accredited School Nursing Program by end of June Trained with specific substance abuse or willing to be trained. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The School Nurse shall have the following responsibilities and duties: 1. Plan, develop and implement programs that facilitate health services for students. 2. Gather and interpret data relevant to health services for students 3. Provide health to students 4. Collaborate with other school personnel and parents/guardians to coordinate the delivery of health services to students. 5. Communicate effectively. 6. Perform routine vision, hearing, scoliosis, dental and general health screenings. 7. Monitor specific programs related to the health needs of students. 8. Participate in child abuse referrals. 9. Perform other health related inspections and appraisals as needed. 10. Monitor student immunization for new school enterers. 11. Maintain permanent health records. 12. Interpret and advise on student medical records. 13. Make appropriate medical referrals. 14. Assist classroom teachers with growth and development instruction for the appropriate grade levels. 15. Conduct home visits as requested. 16. Develop and implement the nursing care plans for students with major health problems. 17. Serve on Student Assistance Program teams as requested. 18. Serve on Individual Education Plan teams as requested. 19. Maintain professional work habits. 20. Maintain and upgrade professional skills. 21. Enter and maintain WVEIS Health Records. 22. Delegation of tasks to appropriately trained personnel for day to day care of students. 23. Conduct intervention with regard to substance abuse. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

14 Position: HVAC Technician Instructor Qualifications/Certifications: Wage-Earning Experience Complete four years (8,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the occupation for which licensure is requested; OR Bachelor s Degree Hold a bachelor s degree AND complete two years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested; OR Associate Degree Hold an Associate Degree in an area related to the specialization AND complete two (2) years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested. Completion of a full year of training from an approved education program in the specialization may count toward a half year of the work experience requirements. 17 Job Description Job Title: Hearing Impaired Teacher QUALIFICATIONS: WV Professional Teaching Certificate - Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Must demonstrate advanced level of American Sign Language (ASL) (SCIP rating). Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members by using: American Sign Language, Written English, and Electronic Communication Systems. Must maintain professional licensure and development by upgrading personal/professional knowledge and skills pursuant to State of West Virginia Other special education certification LD/BD/MI preferred if successful candidate does not have the LD/BD/MI will be required to work toward getting these certifications added. Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing assists in developing language Acquisition and communication skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of the students within the county schools who have a hearing loss. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing must work closely with the staff and administration IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Coordinator of Special Education DAYS: 200 central office iterant DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Teaches elementary and secondary school subjects to hearing impaired students, using various methods of communication to receive and convey language: Plans curriculum and prepares lessons and other instructional materials according to grade level of students, utilizing visual media, such as computer, films, television, and charts. 2) Confers with committee of parents, administrators, testing specialists, social worker, and others to develop individual educational program. 3) Instructs students in academic subjects. 4) Instructs students in various forms of communication, such as gestures, sign language, finger spelling, and speech cues.

18 5) Encourages students to participate in verbal communication classroom learning experiences to ensure their comprehension of subject matter, development of social skills, and ability to communicate in situations encountered in daily living. 6) Tests students' hearing aids to ensure hearing aids are functioning. 7) May attend and interpret lectures and instructions for students enrolled in regular classes. 8) May teach parents how to participate in and enhance students' learning experiences. 9) May teach students to use computer. 10) May specialize in teaching lip reading and be designated Teacher, Lip Reading. 11) Meets with parents, teachers, other professionals, and students to provide information and support regarding hearing loss. 12) Consults with parents, other professionals, agencies, and support staff regarding student educational needs. 13) Plans instruction as needed per Individual Education Plans (IEPs). 14) Records student progress and other data as required per IEPs and school monitoring procedures. 15) Develop appropriate IEP goals based on data and the educational needs of the child and provides an educational program as defined in the student s individualized educational plan 16) Works cooperatively with the classroom teachers who have students with hearing impairments or interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students, assisting in classroom intervention strategies, and assisting the student in regular assignments. 17) Arranges and facilitates interpreting for parent-teacher conferences.. 18) Assumes such other responsibilities as requested by the Special Coordinator. 19) Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

21 POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR THE POSITION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER The special education teacher is responsible for the implementation and quality of instruction to exceptional students designated by federal, state, and county policies. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Cooperate with other teachers, support personnel, administrators, and parents in planning and implementing the instructional program for exceptional students assigned to him/her. 2. Work with building principal and county staff (supervisory) in identifying and solving problems related to assigned exceptional students. 3. Prepare and review IEP s with parents and appropriate personnel reflecting specific instructional objectives for each exceptional student. 4. Utilize teaching techniques and classroom strategies to accommodate the various learning styles and modes of students. 5. Design and/or utilize diagnostic and evaluative techniques in diagnosing and assessing the exceptional students needs with regard to the goals and objectives designated by the IEP. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. 6. Utilize materials, furniture, equipment, and facilities in an effective manner to support the instructional program. 7. Provide resource assistance to regular education for students who are integrated into the regular classroom. 8. Interact with students to promote a positive school image to enhance the teaching-learning process. 9. Perform assignments related to record keeping progress reporting, child count, inventories, etc. 10. Maintain up-to-date files on each assigned exceptional student. 11. Assist in the selection of programs, equipment, and materials to meet the needs of exceptional students. 12. Submit requests and requisitions for equipment, materials and supplies to meet the needs of assigned students. 13. Prepare daily and long range lesson plans as may be required. 14. Communicate and comply with local, state and federal guidelines, regulations, and laws in regard to education of exceptional students. 15. Promote positive parent relations through effective communication and involvement of parents. 16. Supervise paraprofessionals, volunteers, student teaches, etc. assigned to his/her classroom. 17. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required by the building principal or other appropriate supervisory personnel. (SAT, PAC, departmental meetings, inservice training programs, etc.) 18. Maintain and improve professional competence. 19. Function as other school faculty members in such areas as related duties, homeroom, etc. 20. Perform other duties and functions as assigned by the building principal and county supervisory staff. QUALIFICATIONS: The special education teacher shall hold a valid West Virginia teacher certification with endorsements in the area(s) of assigned exceptionality.
