2 WHAT IS PBIS? PBIS IS A FRAMEWORK OR APPROACH FOR ASSISTING SCHOOL PERSONNEL IN ADOPTING AND ORGANIZING EVIDENCE-BASED BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS INTO AN INTEGRATED CONTINUUM THAT ENHANCES ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL BEHAVIOR OUTCOMES FOR ALL STUDENTS.

6 Hallway Expectations In the hallways at McAllister Elementary School, we Have a positive attitude by putting a smile on our face and using school language; Act respectfully by using a quiet voice, keep hands, feet and objects to self, have nose and toes to the front, and listen to and follow adult directions. Work responsibly by walking with a purpose, waiting your turn, using a quiet voice, and getting where you are going in a timely manner. Stay safe by keeping hands, feet and objects to self, having nose and toes to the front, and listen to and follow adult directions. This makes us successful because we always do our best. WE WANT STUDENTS TO: WALK ON THE SILVER LINE HAVE NOSE AND TOES TO THE FRONT STOP A SCHOOL WIDE STOPPING POINTS WALK WITH A PURPOSE KEEP HANDS, FEET AND OBJECTS TO SELF LISTEN TO AND FOLLOW ADULT DIRECTIONS USE APPROPRIATE VOICE

Act respectfully by giving privacy, waiting your turn and using school language. Work responsibly by flushing and washing your hands, using a quiet voice, and using school language. Stay safe by using your own stall, waiting your turn, keeping your hands and feet to yourself, using hand dryers correctly, and listen to and follow adult directions. This makes us successful because we always do our best. WE WANT STUDENTS TO: POTTY WITH A PURPOSE WAIT THEIR TURN STAY IN THEIR OWN STALL KEEP HANDS AND FEET TO SELF FLUSH AND WASH USE HAND DRYERS APPROPRIATELY LISTEN TO AND FOLLOW ADULT DIRECTIONS USE APPROPRIATE VOICE

10 Cafeteria Expectations In the cafeteria at McAllister Elementary School, we Have a Positive attitude by saying kind words to the cafeteria staff, waiting our turn, and using school language. Act respectfully by chewing with our mouth closed, using school language in a quiet voice, saying please and thank-you and keeping our hands & feet to ourselves. Work responsibly by keeping our hands, feet and objects to ourselves, cleaning our area, waiting patiently and using school language. Stay safe by staying on our bottoms in our seat, listening and following adult directions, and cleaning up our area. This makes us successful because we always do our best. WE WANT STUDENTS TO: EAT THEIR OWN FOOD WAIT THEIR TURN TURN THEIR VOICES OFF WHEN MUSIC IS ON KEEP HANDS AND FEET TO SELF LISTEN TO AND FOLLOW ADULT DIRECTIONS USE APPROPRIATE VOICE CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES

12 SCHOOL-WIDE RECOGNITION PLAN School-Wide Each grade level will set an expectation level for number of paws to be obtained. Celebration will be held at the end of each 9 weeks. Description of Recognition Procedures Inclusion Criteria Exclusionary Criteria Class Paws recognition for meeting expectations Given by another faculty member when WHOLE class is following expectations Designated celebration day at the end of the 9 week period Each grade level will have a designated time on the specified day Meet or exceed goal set by grade level for the 9 weeks Everyone gets the reward Don t reach paw goal set by grade level

13 CLASSROOM LEVEL RECOGNITION PLAN Classroom Level Intermittent Recognition (e.g. daily and/or monthly) *9 weeks goal, adjust goals to fit your classroom. Description of Recognition Procedures Inclusion Criteria Exclusionary Criteria Class Paws recognition for meeting expectations Given by another faculty member when WHOLE class is Meet or exceed goal set by teacher in given period of time. Don t reach paw goal set by following expectations Everyone gets the reward teacher. Designated celebration day once goal has been met. Teacher will choose appropriate celebration, etc. for the classroom. 14 INDIVIDUAL STUDENT RECOGNITION PLAN Individual Students Random Description of Recognition Procedures Inclusion Criteria Exclusionary Criteria Tiedemann Tickets for meeting expectation individually Given by another faculty member to individual student who is showing exemplary behavior expectations Kids get tickets from anywhere Student will turn ticket into designated bins in Media Center Recognize on announcements once each week 2 per grade level students will be rewarded and have their picture taken for PBIS board. Faculty members that issued a Tiedemann Ticket and have a student chosen will also be awarded. Exhibiting exemplar behavior expectations and noticed by faculty or staff member. N/A
