CERTAIN SCHOOL-BASED JOB DESCRIPTIONS A. Staff Development Teacher An instructional leader, fostering development and growth, facilitating job-embedded staff development. Supports school staff as catalyst for change, coach, consultant, facilitator, program manager, resource provider and trainer. Supports 9
10 implementation of school improvement plan. There is one such teacher in each elementary and middle school. B..5 GT Title I Teacher Direct services to students needing more challenge; analyze student data to identify strengths and programming recommendations; collaborate with staff development teacher to model instructional strategies and curriculum components with staff; implement early identification; develop continuum of services; monitor student performance; develop parent communication program; support students and parents in applying for academic and extracurricular opportunities. There is one such teacher in each of the 22 Title 1 schools. C. Accelerated and Enriched Instruction Support Teacher Increase student participation, particularly African American and Hispanic, in rigorous middle school courses, and provide supports for improvement of student achievement in such courses. Develop a year-long plan with measurable benchmarks, make quarterly progress reports, participate on school leadership team, develop a process for mentoring, communicate with parents. There is one such teacher in each middle school. tm D. Elementary GT Liaison Plan GT testing; provide teacher training on GT issues; inform staff of GT news; communicate with AEI about local school needs; distribute GT program information; conduct meetings and/or conferences on GT issues. There is one such teacher in each elementary school. E. Resource teacher Liaison between middle school department members and school administration; placement of students in appropriate classes; assists classroom teachers, including skills and techniques, helping to plan the best program for each instructional group by adapting the curriculum to the needs of individuals; assists in planning staff development activities; provides leadership in developing departmental goals.
