November, 2014 Exhibit # Treasurer s Report month of October Exhibit # Cafeteria Report December, Exhibit # Resolution of Board of Education s Monthly Certification Budgetary Major Account/Fund Status: BE IT RESOLVED: Board Secretary s monthly certification budgetary line item status: Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(c)3, I certify that no budgetary line item account has obligations and payments (contractual orders) which in total exceed the amount appropriated by the District Board of Education pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:22-8. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(c)4, we certify that after review of the Secretary s monthly financial report (appropriations section) and upon consultation with the appropriate District officials, to the best of our knowledge no major account or fund has been overexpended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10(b) and that sufficient funds are available to meet the District s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. 4. Approval of Budget Transfers I recommend approval of the budget transfers for the month of December 2014 attached as Exhibit #

3 5. Approval of Bills I recommend approval of the bills, in the amount of $43,045, attached as Exhibit # Recommendations of the Superintendent A. Educational Program 1. Special Education Out-of-District Placements The following Moorestown special education student is recommended for placement in the appropriate out-of-district program and school as mandated in the Individualized Education Program (IEP). I recommend that the Board approve the special education student placement listed on Exhibit # for the school year at the location indicated at the approved tuition rate with transportation provided. 2. Burlington County Alternative High School Placements for The students listed are recommended for placement in the program at Burlington County Alternative High School. I recommend that the Board approve the students on Exhibit # for the school year at Burlington County Alternative High School at the prevailing tuition rate not to exceed state maximum rate with transportation provided. 3. Target Action Plans In accordance with New Jersey s Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), I recommend that the Board approve the Progress Target Action Plans for the Upper Elementary School and the William Allen Middle School, attached as Exhibit # Moved by: Second: Vote: 4. Equivalency Application Approval A resolution is requested approving the submission of the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (QSAC) High Performing Equivalency Application to the NJ State Department of Education, attached as Exhibit # Moved by: Second: Vote: 3

4 B. Finance and Business 1. Travel Expenditures Approval Requests The State of New Jersey has enacted P.L.2007, c.53, An Act Concerning School District Accountability. Section 15 of the Act addresses Travel Expenditures paid by the school district. I recommend that the Board approve the travel expenditures requests attached as Exhibit # Private Schools Child Nutrition Program The State Board of Education adopted changes to N.J.A.C.6A:23 which affects how private schools for disabled children charge the cost of meals in their tuition rate. I recommend that the Board approve the following resolution regarding student lunch programs in private schools for disabled students, per the attached Exhibit # Be it resolved that the Moorestown Board of Education does not require the Larc School to charge students for reduced and/or paid meals provided as part of their educational program in compliance with the NJ Department of Agriculture s Child Nutrition Program regulations. C. Employee Relations 1. Appointments Subject to background checks as required by P.L c116, for the school year. Karen Murphy, as a.5 FTE Reading and Math Support Teacher at the Mary Roberts Elementary School. Ms. Murphy has an MA from Rowan University. She has been placed on Column MA, Step 3 of the Teacher Salary Guide at a salary of $26, prorated, effective January 5, 2015 through June 30, Kelly Staeck, as a Long Term Substitute 3 rd Grade Teacher at the Mary Roberts Elementary School. Ms. Staeck has a BA from Rowan University. She has been placed on Column BA, Step 1 of the Teacher Salary Guide at a salary of $48, prorated, effective January 28, 2015 through June 30,

5 Danielle Carter, as a Long Term Substitute 6 th Grade Math Teacher at the Upper Elementary School. Ms. Carter has an MA from Georgian Court University. She has been placed on Column MA, Step 1 of the Teacher Salary Guide at a salary of $51, prorated, effective January 20, 2015 through June 30, Melissa Meyer, as a Paraprofessional at the George Baker Elementary School. Ms. Meyer has been placed on Column Para, Step 3 of the Paraprofessional Salary Guide at an hourly rate of $11.09 for 6.75 hours per day for an annual salary of $13, prorated, effective January 20, 2015 through June 30, Keeley Samson, as a Paraprofessional at the George Baker Elementary School. Ms. Samson has been placed on Column Para EDUC, Step 2 of the Paraprofessional Salary Guide at an hourly rate of $12.30 for 6.75 hours per day for an annual salary of $15, prorated, effective December 8, 2014 through June 30, Tiffany Service, as a Paraprofessional at the Mary Roberts Elementary School.
