4 Edgewood ISD District Goals Goal 1: All student populations will meet the state s academic standard by the year 2014 Goal 2: Provide all professional staff with relevant and effective staff development in pursuit of our district goals. Goal 3: Edgewood ISD will maintain an exemplary attendance and dropout rate Goal 4: Provide a safe and drug-free school environment. Goal 5: Promote the social, emotional, and academic growth of children by increasing parental/ community involvement. Goal 6: Improve quality and delivery of instruction through integrating technology into the curriculum. Goal 7: All students at EISD will be taught by a Highly Qualified Staff.

5 DISTRICT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 1. AT LEAST 93% OF ALL STUDENTS IN ALL STUDENT POPULATIONS TAKING A STATE-BASED COMPETENCY TEST WILL MEET LEVEL TWO SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE. 2. ALL PROFESSIONAL STAFF WILL HAVE AN AVERAGE OF EIGHT HOURS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT BEYOND THE INSERVICE REQUIREMENT. 3. THE DISTRICT WILL ATTAIN AN ADA OF AT LEAST 97%. 4. THE DISTRICT S DROPOUT RATE WILL NOT EXCEED 1%. 5. THE DISTRICT S SAFE AND DRUG-FREE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITIES REPORT (SDFSC) WILL SHOW A REDUCTION OF KNOWN INCIDENTS. 6. ALL STUDENTS WILL PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE AN APPRECIATION FOR THE BASIC VALUES OF OUR STATE AND NATIONAL HERITAGE AND WHO CAN UNDERSTAND AND FUNCTION PRODUCTIVELY IN A FREE ENTERPRISE SOCIETY. 7. PARENTAL SUPPORT OF SCHOOL PROGRAMS WILL REFLECT A 90% APPROVAL RATING AS SHOWN IN THE ANNUAL PARENT SURVEY. 8. THE DISTRICT WILL INCREASE THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM % OF THE FACULTY WILL BE CONSIDERED HIGHLY QUALIFIED BY MAY 2014 COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT A COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED AT THE END OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR TO PLAN FOR THE UPCOMING ACADEMIC YEAR. THE COMPREHENSIVE NEEDS ASSESSMENT WILL BE DISAGGREGATED AS APPROPRIATE BY GRADE LEVEL, SUBJECT, GENDER, ETHNICITY, ECONOMIC STATUS, LANGUAGE DIFFERENCES, AND PARTICIPATION IN SPECIAL PROGRAMS. THE ASSESSMENT WILL INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: STUDENT DATA FROM THE STATE REPORT, ADEQUATE YEARLY PROGRESS REPORT (AYP), AND PERFORMANCE-BASED MONITORING ASSESSMENT SYSTEM (PBMAS) TEACHER ASSESSMENTS AND GRADES IEP S SHOWING EXPECTED OUTCOMES FOR STUDENTS IN SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS/SERVICES DESCRIPTION OF ALL PERCEIVED NEEDS TO SUPPORTS AND IMPROVE THE SCHOOL PROGRAM/SERVICES PREDICTED NEEDS BASED ON PROJECTED ENROLLMENT, DEMOGRAPHIC TRENDS, AND ANY LEGISLATION IMPACTING THE DISTRICT

6 THE DISTRICT PLAN SHALL ALSO INCLUDE THE NINE COMPONENTS THAT APPLY TO TITLE I LEA SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT STAGE 1. CRITERIA: THE PLAN SHALL 1. INCORPORATE SCIENTIFICALLY BASED RESEARCH STRATEGIES THAT STRENGTHEN THE CORE ACADEMIC PROGRAM IN SCHOOLS SERVED BY THE LEA; 2. IDENTIFY ACTIONS THAT HAVE THE GREATEST LIKELIHOOD OF IMPROVING THE ACHIEVEMENT OF PARTICIPATING CHILDREN IN MEETING THE STATE S STUDENT ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT STANDARDS; 3. ADDRESS THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF SERVING THE AGENCY BY COMMITTING TO SPEND NOT LESS THAN 10 PERCENT OF THE TITLE I, PART A FOR EACH FISCAL YEAR IN WHICH THE AGENCY IS IDENTIFIED FOR IMPROVEMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT, EXCLUDING RESERVED FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT UNDER SECTION 1119; 4. INCLUDE SPECIFIC MEASURABLE ACHIEVEMENT GOALS AND TARGETS FOR EACH OF THE GROUPS OF STUDENTS IDENTIFIED IN THE DISAGGREGATED DATA CONSISTENT WITH ADEQUATE YEARLY PROGRESS; 5. ADDRESS THE FUNDAMENTAL TEACHING AND LEARNING NEEDS IN THE SCHOOLS OF THAT AGENCY, AND THE SPECIFIC ACADEMIC PROBLEMS OF LOW-ACHIEVING STUDENTS, INCLUDING A DETERMINATION OF WHY THE LEA S PRIOR PLAN FAILED TO BRING ABOUT INCREASED STUDENT ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT; 6. INCORPORATE, AS APPROPRIATE, ACTIVITIES BEFORE SCHOOL, AFTER SCHOOL, DURING THE SUMMER, AND DURING AN EXTENSION OF THE SCHOOL YEAR; 7. SPECIFY THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEA AND THE LEA UNDER THE PLAN, INCLUDING SPECIFYING THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO BE PROVIDED BY THE TEA AND THE LEA S RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER 1120A [FISCAL REQUIREMENTS]; 8. INCLUDE STRATEGIES TO PROMOTE EFFECTIVE PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN THE SCHOOL AND; 9. BE IMPLEMENTED (INCLUDING A REVISED PLAN) EXPEDITIOUSLY, BUT NOT LATER THAN THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR AFTER THE SCHOOL YEAR IN WHICH THE LEA WAS IDENTIFIED FOR IMPROVEMENT.
