1 Loc Objective Strategy Ensure that Math, Science, Reading and Writing resources, equipment, manipulatives and teaching materials are purchased and provided for all students and teachers. (Please be thorough in your answer - provide at least 3 sentences) THE MATERIALS THAT WE HAVE PURCHASED SO FAR HAVE BEEN PROVIDED TO ALL TEACHERS. RESOURCES ARE USED DAILY DURING INTERVENTION TIME AND TUTORING. WE WILL EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF RESOURCES AFTER STAAR TO DETERMINE IF WE WILL CONTINUE TO PURCHASE THESE MATERIALS FOR NEXT YR. Provide tutoring in Math, Reading, Science and Writing during school,after school, intersession and Saturdays. TUTORING HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE THE FALL. WE HELD INTERSESSION TUTORING DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF FALL INTERSESSION. SPRING INTERSESSION HAS ALREADY BEEN SCHEDULED. STUDENTS WHO HAVE IMPROVED HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM TUTORING. STUDENTS ARE MAKING GAINS IN MANY AREAS ACCORDING TO ISTATION, BENCHMARKS AND MOCK RESULTS. Purchase research-based materials to provide differentiated instruction and intervention in the areas of Math, Reading, Writing and Science for at-risk, ELLs and SpEd students. RESEARCH-BASED MATERIALS WERE PURCHASED AND DISTRIBUTED TO THE TESTING GRADE LEVELS. TEACHERS ARE IMPLEMENTING THESE DURING SMALL GROUP TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION. MATERIALS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED FOR ELLs AND SPED STUDENTS TO ADDRESS THEIR NEEDS AS WELL.
2 Purchase testing materials, as well as books, instructional materials and supplies in order to identify and provide differentiated instruction for GT students. TESTING MATERIALS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED AND USED TO ID GT STUDENTS. SUPPLIES ARE USED ON A DAILY BASIS DURING GT PULL-OUTS. STUDENT WORK WILL BE DISPLAYED AT THE GT SHOWCASE IN THE EVENING THIS SPRING. Provide opportunities for GT students to participate in activities such as but not limited to : Team Quest, local educational field trips and other academically enriching activities. GT STUDENTS HAVE ALREADY ATTENDED TEAM QUEST. OTHER FIELD TRIPS ARE SCHEDULED FOR THE SPRING. GT STUDENTS WILL ATTEND TEAM QUEST REGIONALS ON FEB. 6TH. STUDENTS BENEFIT GREATLY FROM THE CHALLNGES TEAM QUESTS PROVIDES THEM. THEY ARE 1ST PLACE WINNERS REPEATEDLY. Assist students struggling in Math and Science by providing small group instruction as well as staff development for teachers on Math strategies and activities and Science rotations that will support at-risk students. TEACHERS HAVE BEEN TRAINED ON SINGAPORE MATH AND ARE IMPLEMENTING THE STRATEGIES IN CLASS. STAFF DEV WAS PROVIDED ON MATH ROTATIONS TO 3-5TH GRADE TEACHERS. MATH ROTATIONS TOOK PLACE IN JANUARY. THESE WERE VERY BENEFICIAL IN ADDRESSING SEs THAT THE MAJORITY OF STUDENTS ARE STRUGGLING WITH. SCIENCE ROTATIONS WILL BE HELD FOR 5TH GRADERS IN THE SPRING.
3 Purchase instructional technology hardware and/or software to supplement, update or replace current hardware/software utilized on campus for the purpose of accelerating student academic achievement. WE PURCHASED LONESTAR READING AND DAILY ORAL LANGUAGE TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS IN READING/LANGUAGE ARTS ACROSS GRADE LEVELS. LONESTART MATH IS ALREADY BEING UTILIZED IN 1ST-5TH TO ACCELERATE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT. VDI WAS INSTALLED AND MEMORY WAS UPGRADED ON ALL COMPUTERS. Purchase new computers,cows, listening centers, ipads, headphones, document cameras and other technological equipment that will enhance/support district initiatives. NEW COMPUTERS HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO INCREASE STUDENTS ACCESS AND USAGE IN THE CLASSROOM. COMPUTERS ARE USED FOR INSTRUCTIONAL REINFORCEMENT FOR ISTATION AND THINK THROUGH NATH, POWERPOINT, ONLINE TESTING, TECH BASED PROJECTS, STEMSCOPES, ETC. Provide access and availability of hard-cover as well as online books to teachers and students to augment the selection of books for Book of the Month by purchasing books and the campus-wide license for Tumblebooks. WE PURCHASED WRITER'S WORKSHOP MANUALS FOR TEACHER USE- COPIES OF WHICH ARE IN THE TEACHER RESOURCE CENTER. ALSO PURCHASED WERE EXTRA COPIES OF THE RECOMMENDED TRADE BOOKS TO BE USED WITH WRITIER'S WORKSHOP. ADDITIONAL BOOKS OF THE MONTH WERE PURCHASED TO MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO MORE CLASSROOMS.
4 Purchase the campus license for United Streaming (digital curriculum) to support teachers in accelerating student achievement and sparking students' curiosity in all subject areas. THE LICENSE FOR UNITED STREAMING WAS PURCHASED. US IS USED TO DIFFERENTIATE INSTRUCTION IN ALL CONTENT AREAS. STUDENTS GAIN BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS. Loma Verde will ensure that all special populations (including ELLs, Special Ed and GT) are identified through RTI and GT testing and served appropriately to meet their needs in order to achieve a 2% increase on the STAAR by Spring Provide opportunities for in-school tutoring with the TIAs and at-risk aides. TIAs AND AT-RISK AIDES ARE ASSIGNED TO DIFFERENT GRADE LEVELS. THEY SERVICE STUDENTS IN SMALL GROUP AND IN THE CLASSROOM. SERICES ARE PROVIDED IN MATH AND READING. OUR STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM THE SMALL GROUP ATTENTION THEY RECEIVE. Loma Verde will ensure that all special populations (including ELLs, Special Ed and GT) are identified through RTI and GT testing and served appropriately to meet their needs in order to achieve a 2% increase on the STAAR by Spring Provide opportunities for after school, intersession and summer school tutoring for struggling ELLs. ELLs ARE ALWAYS RECOMMENDED FOR AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING, INTERSESSION AND SUMMER SCHOOL WHEN THEY ARE STRUGGLING. MOST OF THOSE RECOMMENDED DO ATTEND AND GREATLY BENEFIT FROM THE EXTRA ATTENTION.
5 Loma Verde will ensure that all special populations (including ELLs, Special Ed and GT) are identified through RTI and GT testing and served appropriately to meet their needs in order to achieve a 2% increase on the STAAR by Spring Purchase necessary instructional supplies and materials to ensure that teachers are able to appropriately modify curriculum to meet students' specific needs. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS & RESOURCES WERE PURCHASED FOR SPECIAL POPS. TEACHERS WHO WORK WITH THESE STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REQUEST MATERIALS TO BE PURCHASED THAT WILL ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF THEIR STUDENTS. Loma Verde will ensure that students identified as Special Ed are served through accelerated instruction employing proper resources in order to meet 100% AYP requirements and achieve a 2% increase on the state based assessment standards (STAAR) by the end of Provide professional development and purchase instructional materials and equipment or software that will support differentiated instruction for Special Ed students. SPED TEACHERS HAVE ATTENDED PROFESSIONAL DEV THAT ADDRESSES THE PARTICULAR NEEDS OF THEIR STUDENTS. SOFTWARE HAS BEEN PURCHASED FOR IPADS THAT WILL ENHANCE LEARNING FOR SPED STUDENTS. STUDENTS ARE SHOWING SUCCESS. Provide CSCOPE as the primary curriculum that is directly aligned to the TEKs. TEACHERS ALIGN THEIR CURRICULUM WITH CSCOPE. DATA IS OBTAINED FROM THE END OF UNIT TESTS IN CSCOPE TO DRIVE THEIR INSTRUCTION. CSCOPE HAS BEEN VERY USEFUL AND HELPS TEACHERS TO BE CONSISTENT IN THEIR TEACHING.
6 Incorporate Test Bank Questions in the classroom. TAECHERS USE THE EDUPHORIA TEST BANK TO CREATE THEIR COMMON ASSESMENTS FOR THEIR GRADE LEVELS. THESE SAVE TEACHERS TIME AND EFFORT. TEACHERS CAN PICK AND CHOOSE QUESTIONS THAT ARE APPROPRIATE TO THE MATERIAL THEY HAVE COVERED. Monitor performance data through the use of Eduphoria. EDUPHORIA IS USED WIDELY THROUGHOUT THE CAMPUS. A VARIETY OF REPORTS ARE CREATED TO HELP ANALYZE STUDENTS' PERFORMANCE IN ALL CONTENT AREAS. TEACHERS ARE ABLE TO CREATE THEIR TUTORING CLASSES AND OBJECTIVES THROUGH THEIR DATA. Implement the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program through use of the program materials, resources and surveys. TEACHERS HAVE BEEN TRAINED ON HOW TO FIND OLWEUS LESSONS ON THE WEBSITE. LESSONS ARE CONDUCTED EVERY FRIDAY. OUR COUNSELOR HAS PROVIDED A COMMENTS BOX FOR STUDENTS TO REPORT ANY CONCERNS THEY MAY HAVE. THE COUNSELOR MEETS WITH STUDENTS WHO ARE SEEKING HELP.
7 Provide extra duty pay for teachers providing STUDENTS WHO ARE AT RISK ARE REFERRED FOR INTERSESSION/SUMMER supplemental instruction to enhance rigor and relevance SCHOOL. THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN PLACED IN THE NEXT GRADE LEVELARE for all students for intersession/ summer school. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR SUMMER SCHOOL.. TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO TUTOR THEIR OWN STUDENTS. TEACHERS MUST EMPLOY DIFFERENT STRATEGIES AND RESOURCES IN TUTORING FROM THOSE USED DURING THE REGULAR SCHOOL DAY. Loma Verde Elementary will provide professional development throughout the school year for teachers and staff in order to create capacity within our campus and increase Exceeds Expectations ratings by 15% on PDAS as well as ensure 100% highly qualified teachers. Provide research-based professional development and provide materials in the following areas to include but not limited to: Balanced Literacy, Guided Reading, Guided Math, Lead4ward-designing assessments, RTI, Word Walls, Writer's Workshop, Poetry, Shared Reading, Read Alouds, The Daily Five, Dyslexia, Technology Integration, Differentiated Instruction, Vocabulary Development, ESL-Second Lang. Acquisition), Autism, etc. THE CURRICULUM COACH PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS IN THE AREAS OF NEED THAT HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED. THE CURRICULUM COACH ALSO PROVIDES PD TO AT RISK AIDES SO THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE SAME STRATEGIES TEACHERS ARE USING IN THE CLASSROOM. Loma Verde Elementary will provide professional development throughout the school year for teachers and staff in order to create capacity within our campus and increase Exceeds Expectations ratings by 15% on PDAS as well as ensure 100% highly qualified teachers. Allow teachers and staff to attend off-campus and onsite professional development based on needs to ensure growth. TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO FIND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFF- CAMPUS THAT IS NOT ALREADY BEING PROVIDED. THESE TRAININGS MUST BE SOMETHING THEY CAN USE TO BETTER SERVE THEIR STUDENTS. TEACHERS ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN TO CAMPUS AND PROVIDE TRAINING TO THEIR COLLEAGUES.
8 Loma Verde Elementary will provide professional development throughout the school year for teachers and staff in order to create capacity within our campus and increase Exceeds Expectations ratings by 15% on PDAS as well as ensure 100% highly qualified teachers. Provide one planning day each 9 weeks for teachers to come together to plan vertically and horizontally. ALL GRADE LEVELS RECEIVE ONE PLANNING DAY PER 9 WEEKS. TEACHERS GREATLY BENEFIT FROM COLLABORATING WITH THEIR COLLEAGUES. THESE DAYS HELP TEACHERS TO BE ON THE SAME PAGE AND HAVE CONSISTENCY WITHIN THEIR GRADE LEVEL. By July 2014, provide opportunity for campus personnel to purchase scientifically research-based programs, materials and/or resources for professional development in order to ensure Loma Verde is compliant with state and federal guidelines. Purchase research-based supplemental materials for Math, Science, Reading and Reading for struggling students from (but not limited to) the following vendors: Curriculum Assoc., ETA, Measuring Up, Mentoring Minds, Lonestar, Empowering Writers, Great Source, Forde-Ferrier, Pertfection Learning, etc. MATERIALS ARE PURCHASED FOR THE BEGINNNG OF THE SCHOOL YEAR FOR EACH GRADE LEVEL.UPDATED STAAR MATERIALS ARE PURCHASED BEFORE STAAR. THESE PROVIDE STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE TESTING IN THE STAAR MODE. OUR STUDENTS ARE CONSISTENTLY SUCCESSFUL ON STATE ASSESSMENTS. Loma Verde will increase parental and community involvement and participation by 10% by the end of 2014 by providing monthly activities and Family Framework Classes. Offer trainings and outreach programs to strengthen our community and parental involvement as well as encourage Parent liaison to attend conferences/seminars that will enrich our parent involvement program. Provide refreshments, supplies and materials for Family Frameworks including flyers to promote trainings and seminars. OUR PARENT LIAISON ATTENDED A CONFERENCE IN AUSTIN IN THE FALL. PARENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND INGLES SIN BARRERAS, LATINO LITERACY, FAMILY FRAMEWORKS, HOMEWORK HELPERS, ETC. SO THAT THEY MAY GET MORE INVOLVED IN THEIR CHILD'S EDUCATION. NOTICES ARE SENT HOME AND MESSAGES ARE POSTED ON THE MARQUEE.
