1 YPP CBM Reports: Accessing and using your CBM data to track progress, retention and drive instruction To access the CBM reports for either Math or Language Arts, click k on the subject tab. - Click on the green Reports button - Click View CBM Report - Select the grade level of the assessment - Select your class The CBM Class Summary will appear. The following screens will provide some guidance as to how to use the CBM reports and Student Reports - where to click to drill down to the data, and what your options are on each page. Each page has notes that accompany it.

2 CBM Assessment Report: Class Summary Cluster Key To view mastery for the skills in a cluster, click on the cluster heading in blue. (see next slide) Column Headings correspond to Skill Cluster in Key above All Mastery Dots, Column Headings and student names are links

3 CBM Assessment Report: Skill Summary Page Skill Cluster Choose new Cluster from Drop Down menu Skill Key Click on Skill Column heading to see students three most recent attempts on a skill Mastery is average of 3 attempts at a skill and is updated each time a student is assessed on a skill. Green: Mastery - Maintain 3/3 Yellow: Partial Mastery - Maintain 2/3 Red: No Mastery - 1/3 or less

4 CBM Assessment Report: Skill Detail Page 1 Current Skill Choose new skill from Drop-down menu. Click Assign to Assign a Gradelevel exercise on this skill. When assigned, changes to Unassign and the exercise loads in the student s queue. Click Unassign to remove the exercise from the student s queue. Click on the red box to see student s answer (next slide) Click on either the student s name or the Mastery Dot to see the date, result and number of seconds the student spent on each problem. 5 CBM Assessment Report: Drilling Down to see Student Answers Click on a Red Box to drill down and see how the student answered the problem, and to see the correct answer.

Assessment date, starting with most recent attempt Shows result of student s attempts. Click on the box to see how student answered the problem. A Red box with a white dot indicates: - Seconds: The student skipped the problem and did not get back to it. - 0 seconds: The student timed out before seeing the problem.

7 CBM Assessment Report: Mastery detail and Fluency Mastery Detail shows the date of assessment, the result and amount of time a student spent on a problem. The number of seconds required to solve a problem should decrease as the student develops fluency in the skill.

8 CBM Assessment: Skill Mastery and Grade-level Exercise Assignment To assign an exercise at Grade level, click Assign. Unassign indicates the student has an exercise on this skill in his / her queue. To Unassign the exercise, click Unassign.

9 Student Progress Report: CBM Assessment Results by Student Custom Test results are listed at bottom of report; percentages are links to Custom Test Report Graph plots student progress Click on the Red Box to drill down and see how the student answered the problem, and to see the correct answer. Shows student Mastery by cluster and skill. Click on the Mastery Dots to see Mastery Details Exercise results are listed as percentages next to the skill and are links to the exercise report.

10 Exercises: Tutorial (Part 1) Exercises have three parts: -Tutorial: Walks the student through how to approach and solve a problem. --Guided Practice: Student solves a problem step by step, and gets feedback (2 answer options) --Practice: Student answers set of 6 problems on own (4 answer options) Exercises can be assigned by skill or by student. They can also be assigned at lower or higher grade levels for remediation.

11 Exercises: Guided Practice Problems (Part 2) The student will solve the guided practice problems step-bystep and receive feedback from the program. There will be 2 options.

12 Exercises: Practice Problems (Part 3) The student will answer the problem by him/herself, but will receive feedback. There will be 4 answer options instead of 2. There are 2 sets of 6 Practice Problems for each Exercise. The Practice Problems are graded.

13 Reading Maze Assessment Global Indicator - Overall measure of reading achievement 2½ minute Maze assessments track progress in reading fluency Measured against grade level targets Leveled reading passages allow true comparison of progress over time Data comparable to Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) assessment

15 Reading: Class Summary Shows Results of last Maze Assessment Mastery dots show where student stands in relation to year-end goals Click on student s name to see Student Detail Report Growth rate shows the student s growth over time. (+1.0 = 1 additional word per week) Adjusted correct score equals number correct minus ½ of incorrect

16 Reading: Student Detail Report Shows Individual Progress Towards Year-end end Goal 1 st 4 Assessments are averaged to plot start point of student s own Line of Best Fit towards year-end grade-level goal

17 Reading: Dual Discrepancy Report shows students that are one standard deviation below class average for growth and / or score Shows class average as compared to at-risk students progress for Growth Shows class average as compared to at-risk students Scores
