2 Dear Teacher: Welcome to Schlitterbahn s Waves of Pages Reading Program. The program is designed to inspire students in grades K-5 to read for enjoyment and supplement your school s reading programs. The Waves of Pages Reading Program encourages students to read for pleasure by providing a chance to earn a FREE admission to Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels. Each student who reads for 10 hours (600 minutes) during the 10-week program is awarded a FREE admission to the waterpark as well as a special discount offer for their family members. Here s how it works: Teachers o Distribute the Student Materials to each student, discuss the Program Guidelines with them, and provide all program dates and deadlines. o Once the program has ended, gather all Reading Logs from the students, determine who has met the 10-hour requirement, record the names of these students on the Class Summary form, and return the Class Summary and Reading Log forms to the Program Coordinator by the deadline. o Once tickets are received, distribute the Waves of Pages tickets to your students prior to the end of the school year. o One teacher from each participating classroom receives a FREE admission ticket. Students o Take Student Materials home and share them with a parent or guardian. Log the number of minutes spent reading throughout the 10-week program on the Reading Log. o Once the 10-week program has ended, return the Reading Log to the teacher by the deadline. Please review the Program Guidelines on the last page of this packet and contact your program coordinator if you have any questions. Visit schlitterbahn.com to learn more about the waterpark. We hope this program serves as a helpful tool as you and your teachers inspire a new generation of readers. Sincerely, Schlitterbahn Waterpark & Resort New Braunfels, Texas

5 Dear Student & Family: Greetings from Schlitterbahn Waterpark! Welcome to Schlitterbahn s Waves of Pages, a reading program designed to inspire students in grades K-5 to read for fun! With your help, your child has the opportunity to earn one FREE admission to Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels. All they need to do is read for 10 hours (600 minutes) during the 10-week program, and they will be awarded a free admission to the waterpark as well as a special discount offer for your family. Here s how it works: 1. You may read to your child, your child may read aloud to you, or your child may read alone. It all counts toward the 10-hour goal. 2. Time spent reading for school assignments does not count toward the 10-hour goal. Reading anything else does count, including books, comic books, magazines, newspapers, or online reading. 3. Record the number of minutes your child reads on the attached Reading Log along with the title of their reading material and teacher s name. You must date and initial each entry to verify that your child completed the reading sessions. Please use additional sheets of paper, if needed. 4. Reading must be completed by the date on the Reading Log. Your child must turn in all signed Reading Log to his or her teacher by this date in order to be eligible for the free admission ticket. Admission tickets are valid April 23 June 30, 2016 at Schlitterbahn Waterpark New Braunfels only. Please read the Program Guidelines on the last page and contact your teacher if you have any questions about the Waves of Pages Reading Program.
