1 NSS Regular Activiies Monthly Report JUNE Meeting with students Our NSS Programme Officer meet the NSS Volunteers for preplanning of upcoming NSS Regular activities and Special camp of academic year Fresher s Day Our NSS Volunteers actively participated in Fresher s Day Function by Welcoming the parents and helped in hospitality services World Yoga Day World Yoga Day was organised in our college chief guest Mr.Manimaran, chairman of Rotary club, inaugurated the programme in the presence of our Principal Rev Dr.Sr.Victoriya.Yoga Practical Session was guided by Ms.Padmapriya,Volunteer of Eisha Yoga center, Thanjavur Drug Abuse Day Drug Awareness programme was organised to create awareness about the impact of Drug to the public through our transport workers. JULY Student Council Election The NSS Volunteers guided the students in polling for the student council election World Population Rally The Rally for World Population awareness was inaugurated by the collectorate of thanjavur and it started from railway station to Sangeetha Mahal Orientation Programme for Freshers Our NSS Programme Officers conducted and presented the Orientation Programme for the freshers Humanitarian Day Competitions
2 NSS organised Humanitarian Day Competitions on and around 136 students participated in various events such as Essay Writing, Painting, Photography and Poetry Writing and won prizes. AUGUST Road Safety Day The Debate Programme for Road Safety Day was organised at Tamil University, Thanjavur and the chief guest and the judge was Mr.Gnasamantham, Jaya TV.Our NSS Volunteers actively participated in this programme Independence Day
3 70 th Independence Day was celebrated by the NSS Units in our college and the chief guest was Mr.Baskar,Head, Agriculture Service Association,Pudhupattinam. He gave a motivational speech on National Leaders to the NSS Volunteers Humanitarian Day Competition Bharathidasan University and Jamal Mohamed college jointly organised Humanitarian Day Competitions on and our College student P.Sharmila, II Maths B and IT Department Students won the prizes in Drawing and Mime Nutrition Awareness Programme Nutrition Awareness Programme was organised by the NSS units in our college and the chief guest was Mrs.Dennis Rani, Department of Hospital Administration and she gave a speech on Health is Wealth to NSS Volunteers Responsibilities of NSS Awareness Programme by NSS Alumnae to Volunteers The Awareness Programme for Social Responsibility was organised on and the passed out NSS Students met the NSS Volunteers and they shared their experience about the NSS and usefulness of NSS in our future life Aaduvomey Pallu Paduvomey The Intercollegiate Cultural programme was organised in our college campus and the NSS Volunteers were involved in hospitality service and provided guidance to other college students. SEPTEMBER NSS Day NSS Day was celebrated bythe NSS Units in our college and the new activities of NSS 2016 was introduced to the NSS volunteers in the presence of our Principal Pre RD Selection Camp Our NSS Student Ms.Meera Priya II B.Sc., Hospital Administration, was selected for South Zone Pre RD Camp held at National College, Trichy.The selection camp was open to all the colleges affiliated to BDU. OCTOBER TOT Programme for NSS Programme Officers
4 Our NSS Programme Officer Ms.A.Kamatchi, Assistant Professor of CS, attended the TOT Programme, on Human Rights and their Issues held at Sengamalathaayar College, Mannargudi Pre RD Selection Camp at South Zone Our NSS Programme Volunteer Ms.Meera Priya, II B.Sc., HA,attended the second level South Zone - Pre RD Selection camp held at National College,Trichy Plantation Our NSS Units organised the Plantation at our Campus in presence of our Principal and also at the Hope Area in presence of the President of Hope Area Dr.APJ.abdul Kalam s Birthday Our NSS Volunteers and our NSS Programme officers organised an Awareness Programme on Save Generation on Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam s birthday Rain Water Harvesting Awareness Programme Our NSS Units organised the Awareness programme for Rain Water Harvesting. They also gave speech on the importance of building Rain water harvesting tanks Dengue Awareness programme Our NSS Volunteers actively organised awareness programme for current issues in the Hope area by distributing the Pamplets ont he dangers Dengue Fever Cleaning the Public Places Our NSS Volunteers actively participated in the cleaning of public places in Hope area. They also helped their area scavengers to keep the place clean. Initiating the New Extension Activity
5 From this year onwards,our College initiated the new extension activity Disposal of Degradable and Non Degradable wastage in collaboration with Clean Thanjavur Movement. DECEMBER-NSS SPECIAL CAMP Camp Report Bharathidhasan university and Bon secours college for women jointly together and conduct NSS special camp from to at kollangarai,pilakaan savadi, sooriyampatti. titled as Health, Cleanliness and Self Cleanliness.This NSS special camp is based on these topics Special Camp Inauguration On the inaugurated of NSS special camp junior public prosecutor Ms.Subasri presided the camp.our college Vice Principal A.N.Christy lighted the lamp and graced the occassion.the Ex-President of Kollangarai Mr.Thirugnasamantham and the panchayat committee officer Mr.Swaminathan were the special guests. The function started with welcome dance by our college students. Then NSS cleaning process was initiated Procedure of How to apply the Passport Next day session was beneficial for the passport applicants. Mr.Celladurai of Pilakaanchavadi presented a talk on required documents about the applying procedure. Mr.Sakthivel and Mr.Mohamed Ali explained about the verification process details for issuing the passport.our college student expressed their talents in various field. Then census was taken in that village Importance of Minerals in Agriculture The next day in sooriyapatti Mr.sivasubramaniyam explained about the importance of minerals in agriculture. Then our college students cleaned the vinayaga temple in Sooriyampatti and displayed their talents. At the end vote of thanks was given by the students Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship Then the next day Mr.Pragathish [redcross organization] delivered a special speech about the rights and duties of the citizen in India.and distributed plant saplings to the people in kollangarai. Then the Asst.profs of Commerce Ms.Meenakshi and Ms.Vimala Rohini created awareness about debit card and credit card to the kollangarai village people Benefits of Yoga and Distributed daily things to Prisoners On the 5 th day of NSS camp Ms.Geetha[yoga trainer] explained about the importance of yoga. And she did some asanas for the people in pilakaanchavadi. Then our students staged the awareness of polythene cover by a drama and also distributed the sanitary items to the prisoners at Thanjavur prison Human rights and thoughts of periyar
6 On the 6 th day Mr.K.Anbazhagan delivered a special speech on Scientific thoughts in Periyar s view.then Asst.prof.Mr.K.Jayakumar of Periyar University rendered a talk on Commonsense in Periyar s thoughts.after this talk, students started their cleaning process Special Camp Valediction The function started with a welcome dance by our college student. NSS Committee members, Ass.Prof. Ms.N.Nishadheenu [Dept of English] delivered the welcome address and Asst.Prof. Ms. Anuradha[Dept of Tamil] read the NSS special camp report Dr. Subaiaah rendered the special speech. Our college Vice Principal Mrs.A.N.Christy and Panchayat development Committee members Mr.Swaminathan and Mr.Durai shared his views about the NSS camp. Ms.Sathya [Asst Prof of Tamil Dept] invoked God s blessing and delivered a special speech.at the end, NSS Committee members, Ms.Kamatchi [Asst. Prof. of CS] delivered the vote of thanks. JANUARY National Integration Camp Our NSS Volunteer Ms.M.Anjana Devi, II B.Sc., HA participated in the National Integration Camp sponsored by Government of India,Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organised by NSS Regional Directorate, Ahmedabad from 4 th to 10 th January Cleaning Under Swachch Bharath Abhiyan Our NSS Volunteers actively participated in the cleaning of public places in Hope area under Swachch Bharath Abhiyan World Younger s Day Our NSS Units organised the World Younger s day celebration in our campus.the Programme highlighted the awareness about the responsibilities of youngsters Training for RD Parade at chennai Our NSS Volunteer Ms.R.Meera Priya, II B.Sc., HA participated in the Republic Day Parade at Chennai from 16 th to 26 th January Road Safety Week Our NSS Volunteers and our NSS Program officers actively participated in awareness rally from Thilagar Thidal to old collector office Jallikattu Rally
7 Our NSS Volunteers and our College Students (around 3450 students) actively participated in jallikattu Rally from Anna nagar to Railway Junction Voter s Day Competitions NSS organised Voter s Day Competitions on and around 250 students participated in various events such as Essay Writing, Painting, Photography and Poetry Writing and won prizes. 8 February and March Convocation Day The NSS volunteers of our college rendered their active participation on convocation day to maintain perfect discipline Orientation Programme for NSS Volunteers Our NSS Programme Officers conducted and presented the Orientation Programme for the NSS Volunteers for Awareness about the selection of RD Camp for the next Year Campus Drive The NSS volunteers of our college exhibited their active participation on the day of campus drive to maintain perfect discipline International Women s Day International Women s Day Celebration was organised to create awareness about the impact of Karuvelangkaadu to the public through our NSS Volunteers by removing the karuvelankadu.this programme was inaugurated by our district collector. Our NSS volunteers actively participated in that programme and took oath for demolishing the Karuvelangkaadu Road Safety Week Meeting The Meeting for Road Safety Week was organised at Tamil University, Thanjavur and our NSS Programme officer actively attended the meeting College Day During the College Day programme held on , the NSS volunteers maintained discipline and offered hospitality service to the parents Campus Cleaning
9 Arrangement of library books by our NSS volunteers : After the college hours, students are voluntarily involving themselves in laboratory services. Laboratories are cleaned by our NSS volunteers Valediction of Association The NSS volunteers of our college rendered their active participation on the day of Valediction of Associations to maintain perfect discipline Cleaning the Public Places Our NSS Volunteers actively participated in the cleaning of public places in Hope area.
