2 Sign up to work the St. Mary Gold Rush Auction by following the link below! It is a fun evening and we appreciate all of our volunteers! St. Mary School Auction Committee In partnership with the Leelanau County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition and Leelanau County Schools, St. Mary School welcomes Michael DeLeon from Steered Straight to address our middle school and high school students in an assembly format. During the presentation students will hear age-appropriate lessons about current drug trends including the opioid epidemic in our country and vaping among our younger population. Students will learn about signs and symptoms of drug use, discussion points to prevent initial use, and how to continue the conversation about prevention. The presentations at St. Mary School will take place on Tuesday, October 16, The Leelanau County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition is also hosting community presentations during the evening. See flyer page 4 for time and place and further details.thank you. Megan Glynn, Principal Class Photos Update: Juniors & Seniors TAKE TWO! We had 1 from each class missing for our photo this past week plus it was raining so we were forced in the gym so let s give it one more shot (pun intended)! We will meet by the cafeteria at 7:55 sharp on THURSDAY, October 11! This is a hard one to coordinate because of CTC/off-campus students! This is our ONLY other opportunity. Long term forecast looks good for the weather! Please come in your dress code you may change after the photo. Thanks so much! - Carol Tondreau All Parent Meeting Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Hear an update of Vision 2020, our strategic plan for the school. Learn about opportunities for you to become involved in committees, events, and activities Enjoy the fellowship of others who seek to further the mission of St. Mary School. We strongly encourage at least one parent to attend. Child care is available; please call the school office. Thus it follows that the work of the Catholic school is irreplaceable and the investment of human and material resources in the school becomes a prophetic choice. (Congregation for Catholic Education, Rome 1997) Battle of the Books is Back! Open to all Grand Traverse/Leelanau area 4 th & 5 th graders! We are looking for a parent volunteer to facilitate this great opportunity! An informational meeting will be held on October 14 th, 3:30pm at Traverse Area District Library. Please call the office if you wish to volunteer! Thank you! For more information visit Spirit Wear Orders to come! We are working to put together a spirit wear order soon. Expect information later this month! Thank you, St. Mary School PTO The Nation-Wide Life Chain event is coming up quickly on Sunday, 10/7 from 2:30-3:30!
