3 SCHOOL YEAR Opening Day Procedures The first day of school is Monday, August 13, All students should report to the small gym to pick up their class schedules before reporting to their first period class. Please plan to arrive by 7:00 a.m. to have time to get to class by 7:45 a.m. School Site Council The School Site Council is the advisory and decision-making body for EHS. SSC members are elected for a two-year term. The council is comprised of 4 certificated staff members, one classified staff member, 3 parent members, 3 student members and Principal Charles Dunn. We currently have openings for new members. We are inviting parents and students who are interested in serving on the SSC to submit a brief candidate statement about yourself to Ms. Robison in the principal s office. Elections will be held in electronically during the week of Back to School Night. Parent Volunteers The most frequently asked question is: What can I do as a volunteer? Parents at Eastside are involved in activities during and after school, providing vital support to our students, teachers and staff. We need chaperones, classroom assistants, clerical support, Guidance Office helpers, and etra help at special events. Any amount of time is greatly appreciated. 6 Tetbook Distribution Schedule Tetbooks are checked out from the EHS Library during the following times. All students should have their tetbooks before school starts. Please take a moment to make sure you have returned all tetbooks checked out during previous years. If you still have tetbooks or library books, please bring them with you. Thank you.
