Congratulations Year 4 Boys On Thursday 19th October, the Year 4 boys football team attended a Football Festival at Colchester United Training ground. The boys played six games in total, winning four, drawing one and losing one. The boys played brilliantly throughout the day, showing their strength and quality in each game, impressing the Colchester coaching team who were watching from the sidelines. A superb sporting event! Congratulations to the boys involved! Congratulations Girls Football Team Their play was about their class topic of Homes. A Special Visitor for Class D On Thursday, Father John visited Class D to talk to the children about our RE topic, Belonging, Father John explained to the children about Baptism and how we belong to God s family. Secondary School Applications For September 2018 The statutory closing date for applications from parents of Year 6 children (for a secondary school place in Year 7 from September 2018) is 31 st October On Friday 13 th October, St John Fisher Girls football team attended the West Essex football tournament, which was being held at Colebrook Royals FC. The girls were in good spirits as they arrived and continuously throughout the day. They finished top of their group after winning all of their four matches and made it through to the finals stage of the competition. After tough semi-finals match vs Hereward, SJF narrowly lost on penalties, setting up a bronze medal match vs Waltham Holy Cross. The girls showed great determination and strength, which lead them to a 2-0 victory; claiming third place and the bronze medal. Year 5 and 6 Boys The boys went to a Football Festival last Friday at Chigwell. They lost the first match but carried on to win the remaining five. They were excellent and, great mentors for next year s team. The boys also played against Alderton School. This was a league match, which they won 13:0. With the help of his team, Harry Amass scored 10 goals out of 13. I am proud to be their coach and look forward to the upcoming games.
