3 April 4th - June 1st Class Dues are $0. Anyone that would like to make a donation to our class, donations are due by FRIDAY, JUNE 1st. The Senior Trip to Holiday Hill, Senior Breakfast, and Class Gift are covered already. Donations can be given to Mrs. Melody Nadeau in the Main Office. Checks are payable to: FHS Class of (Note: Senior Prom and the All-Night Fitch Graduation Party Not Included) Friday, April 13 Order your cap and gown online at The payment for a cap & gown goes to Jostens. The cost is $38.00 (price varies). Questions, please call Jostens (888) Thursday, May 31 / 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM The Senior Field Day will be an all day event at Holiday Hill in Cheshire, CT. All Seniors who are attending day school and cleared all accountabilities (2 weeks prior to trip -- Thursday. May 17th) are eligible to go provided they meet all the requirements of the contract they have signed. Students will leave Fitch at approx. 7:45 AM by charter bus, and will return to Fitch High School at approx. 4:30 PM. Bus assignments are alphabetical. Thursday, June 7 / 6:30 PM Honor Cords will be presented in the Hagerty Auditorium at Fitch High School. While award recipients and their parents will receive an invitation, the ceremony is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Dress for this occasion will be semi-formal for all students. A reception will follow in the cafeteria. Saturday, June 9 / 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM The Senior Prom will be held at the MYSTIC AQUARIUM. This dinner/dance is open to Seniors and their guests. Seniors will be admitted if they have purchased their Prom Ticket by Friday, May 25th. Tickets are. If your guest is NOT a FHS Senior, a ticket will have to be purchased for them. Tickets and guest tickets w/ permission slip go on sale April 30th - May 4th & May 21st May 25th in the cafeteria. Attire appropriate to this occasion is expected. The usual school rules apply. Anyone evidencing any involvement with alcohol/drugs will not be admitted. A breathalyzer will be given to students, at random, as they enter the event. If students are choosing this service, they must be taken before entering the building for the event. NO RE-ENTRY ALLOWED. If you left something in your vehicle, you must be escorted by a chaperone to retrieve that item. If you leave, it will be for the remainder of the evening. Please respect your fellow classmates, chaperones, the event location and staff. Each student will receive a bracelet upon arrival. If the student s dancing is deemed inappropriate, by any chaperone or administrator, they will be warned by asking them to remove their bracelet. If the student has to be spoken to again, and they do not have their bracelet, they will be asked to leave. Monday, June 11 / 6:30 PM Awards will be presented in the Cafeteria at Fitch High School. While award recipients and their parents will receive an invitation, the ceremony is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Dress for this occasion will be semi-formal for all students. 3

4 Thursday, June 14 / 6:30 PM Senior Academic Awards and Scholarships will be presented in the Hagerty Auditorium at Fitch High School. While award recipients and their parents will receive an invitation, the ceremony is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Dress for this occasion will be semi-formal for all students. Wednesday, June 20 / 12:30 PM - 3 PM Thursday, June 21 / 12:30 PM - 3 PM Friday, June 22 / 8:30 AM - 11 AM The rehearsals are mandatory for ALL graduating seniors. PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS AHEAD OF TIME for transportation and with employers! Thursday, It is a good idea to arrive 10 MINUTES AHEAD OF TIME as we start at the designated startingjune time!7 / 6:30 PM If, for whatever reason, you are nothagerty participating in the ceremony please notify Mr. Brown. THE CEREMONY ON June 22nd. Friday, June 22 / 7:30 AM A Senior/Faculty breakfast will be held in the cafeteria. Immediately following the breakfast, graduation candidates will report to the auditorium for the graduation rehearsal. Friday, June 22 / 6:00 PM The graduation exercises will start promptly at 6:00 PM and will be held outdoors on Dorr Field, the football field, weather permitting. Parents and friends will sit in the bleachers and the students who are graduating will be seated on the football field. No tickets are required if graduation is held outdoors on the field. In the event of rain, graduation will be held in the auditorium. For an inside graduation, tickets will be required for the admission of parents and guests. These tickets will be issued to each participating candidate. Each participant will be issued three (3) tickets, with an opportunity to sign up for an additional ticket after graduation rehearsals. The reason for the low number of tickets is because of the limited seating capacity and the large number of participants. Tickets will be distributed at the FINAL REHEARSAL In either case, parents should plan to arrive early because of the traffic. Participants must report in by 4:30 PM. If we can hold the graduation outside, parents should be told that they will be facing the sun, and also that it does get quite chilly once the day draws to a close and should plan accordingly. 4

5 Participation in the Graduation Ceremony Participation in the graduation ceremony is a privilege and not a right. Therefore, failure to abide by the following guidelines will lead to non-participation in the graduation ceremony Students must meet all requirements for graduation. Graduation requirements are found in the Student Handbook. Students under suspension will not participate. Violation of the drug/alcohol and weapon policy during their Senior year will not participate. Inappropriate attire at the graduation ceremony as set forth by the guidelines of the Graduation Committee: Females must wear a dress, skirt, or dress slacks and proper dress shoes. Males must wear a collared shirt and tie, dress shoes and dress trousers. Uncooperative behavior during graduation rehearsal and other senior activities during the last week of school. Scroll down to CAPS & GOWNS and click BROWSE ALL 7. Click Cap & Gown Unit 8. Input Height, Weight, and Gender 9. Click Add to Cart 10. Fill out Recipient First Name and Recipient Last Name 11. 8 FITCH HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PROM PERMISSION SLIP for NON-FHS STUDENT You have been asked to attend the FHS Senior Prom on Saturday, June 9th, from 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM at Mystic Aquarium. To ensure a safe and enjoyable evening, please read the following guidelines: Students should arrive to the dinner/dance between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM No students will be permitted entrance later than 7:30 PM The dance is a formal affair and students should dress appropriately. Administration reserves the right to deny admittance for any student inappropriately dressed. Administration will also be asking students to leave if they are dancing inappropriately. Students will be expected to abide by all Fitch High School behavioral guidelines. Students who violate behavioral expectations will be subject to disciplinary action, including removal from the prom. This signed permission slip must be completed in order to purchase a Guest Prom Ticket. All NON-FHS students must produce a photo ID in order to enter the prom. No middle school aged students or anyone over the age of 20 may attend Senior Prom. Groton Public Schools has adopted a Breathalyzer Policy. Please be advised that any attendant may be requested to take a Breathalyzer Test before admittance to the dinner/dance. I have read the above information and guidelines for the 2018 Senior Prom on Saturday, JUNE 9th. I understand that I must adhere to all dance guidelines and Fitch High School behavioral expectations. 9 Fitch High School Class of 2018 HOLIDAY HILL PERMISSION SLIP / GUIDELINES As the end of your Senior year approaches, many fun events have been planned for the Class of 2018 to celebrate this exciting time in your lives. One of these events will be the Senior Field Day, taking place at Holiday Hill in Cheshire, CT. This trip is scheduled for Thursday, May 31st. Busses will depart at approx. 7:45 AM and will return to Fitch High School at approx. 4:30 PM. (An earlier Sports Bus will be provided. Only students designated by coaches/athletic department may ride this bus.) Each Senior must meet the following requirements in order to attend this year s Senior Outing at Holiday Hill: 1. You must not have any serious disciplinary action currently against you regarding tardiness. 2. You must be maintaining credit (attendance) in all of your classes. 3. You must have no serious disciplinary actions currently against you; suspensions or expulsions. 4. You must have NO OUTSTANDING ACCOUNTABILITIES (textbooks, uniforms, library, lunch, etc ) 5. Students with unassigned Blocks during periods 2 & 3 of the day may NOT leave school grounds without prior written permission. You must have no violations. 6. All students must have a signed permission slip from parents (even if you are 18 years old) turned in by Friday, April 27, 2018 to attend this Senior Outing. 7. All students attending must have academic proof of senior status. 8. Students MUST ride the coach busses to and from Holiday Hill. Students violating any of the Fitch High School behavior policies (Found in the Student Handbook) during the Field Day will be subject to suspension and/or loss of graduation ceremony privileges. **BAGS WILL BE CHECKED PRIOR TO BOARDING BUSSES!** Permission Slip on the Back of this Sheet 9
