16 Toyota Dream Car Competition Winner WHATS NEW!!!!! Jiten Gulab Bansi is a student of Class IIC ECED Afternoon Saddar Campus. Jiten, along with others, participated in the Toyota Western Motors "My Dream Car" Art competition and won the Phase 1 competition. He is the youngest participant in the Competition. A mega event was held at the Pearl Continental on the 25 th March 2013 to award the winners. Jiten received a prize & and a certificate for his work. Another thing of notice is that Jiten is the son of Kanta Gulaab (General Staff) our employee of Nasra School. The contest consists of 2 phases of process: First, top 3 winning artworks per age category are selected in the "Local Contest" in each country/region. Then, all selected winning artworks are also directly qualified to the "World Contest". As a result of strict fair judging in the "World Contest", award winning artworks are selected. The award winners will be invited to Japan to attend the Award Ceremony in August Jiten worked under the supervision of Ms. Afshan Abbas, an excellent art teacher, who has been arranging art exhibition of the children s work since the past years and has been receiving appreciation for her work. She has been working in the school for the past eight years. She has been sending entries to the various art competition held by Colgate, Toyota, polish and Japan art competition. We await the results of the world contest and hope that Jiten is chosen as a Winner! New Logo and Mascots For over two months now, our quest for a new Nasra logo continued. And your response was overwhelming. Hundreds of logos were sent in during the month from students and teachers. Inspired with your designs, we decided that we couldn t pick just one. So, we decided to take elements from various designs and make minor changes to the old logo, so as to stay true to the original Nasra spirit. Hence, comes forth, after much laboring, your new Nasra logo! It is displayed on the cover page of The Informer. On behalf of the entire Head Office, we thank you profusely. And congratulate you on a marvelous accomplishment. Well done! Regarding the Mascots, we have decided the following, based on your votes: Saddar Scorpions Malir Monarchs Korangi Kites Highway Hawks North-Karachi Knights 16 P a g e
17 UPDATES FROM THE HEAD OFFICE! ID Cards Compulsory SECURITY UPDATES-MR.AFTAB ALAM It is absolutely imperative that all teachers and students keep their ID card on at School hours. This is done to ensure your security and wellbeing. Which is why we request you to enforce this rule strictly. A Clean School is a Happy School It has been noticed by Mr.Alam that the School property has been marred with pan and ghutka. It is very shameful that the general staff do not restrict themselves. This is a matter that the Heads should give attention to. Please make sure that the grounds and buildings are clean. Congratulations to Mr.Aftab Alam! On the 13 th Day of March, Mr.Aftab Alam was granted a Tribute for his devotion to the School by heading the project and all the field work that contributed towards the completion of the Superhighway project. He not only singlehandedly located the piece of land, but also negotiated the deal and saw to its completion. This Tribute was signed by Mrs.Nasra Wazir Ali. And we, at the Head Office congratulate Mr.Alam on his achievement. 17 P a g e
