1 Hampton Township School District 4591 School Drive Allison Park, PA Board Work Session Monday, August 2, 2010 Middle School Library -7:00 p.m. The Board of Directors of the Hampton Township School District welcomes comments from visitors, who are invited to address the Board at the beginning of the meeting. Speakers are asked to limit their comments to three to five minutes and if multiple speakers are addressing the same topic, we ask that you limit your collective remarks to 15 to 20 minutes. The Board will not discuss personnel matters in public. The Board holds a regularly scheduled work session for the purpose of examining proposals and recommendations made by the staff, public, legal counsel, consultants, or the Board. This process ensures a thorough review of all items before they are placed on the voting agenda. The public is encouraged to attend the Board Work Session. Thank you. TOPIC FOR BOARD ACTION: RESIGNATIONS: 1. Accept the resignation of Ms. Susan Bennick, who is resigning after one-year with the District, effective July 8, Ms. Bennick was an Academic Support Math Teacher at Hampton High School. 2. Accept the resignation of Mr. Jared Matis, who is resigning after one-year with the District, effective July 21, Mr. Matis was an Academic Support Math Teacher at Hampton High School. 3. Accept the resignation of Mr. David Eversole, who is resigning after 10-years with the District, effective July 1, Mr. Eversole was a 12 month/8 hour per day Custodian at Hampton High School. 4. Accept the resignation of Mrs. Lucy Horgos, who is retiring after 10-years with the District, effective June 10, Mrs. Horgos was a Food Service Worker at Hampton High School. 5. Accept the resignation of Mrs. Jacqueline Yakich, who is resigning after one-year with the District, effective July 26, Mrs. Yakich was the Academic Support Teacher at Central Elementary School. TEACHERS: 6. Approved Ms. Jennifer Demharter, as a Social Studies Teacher at Hampton High School, effective August 23, Salary is $51,812, Master s Step-2. (Ms. Demharter is replacing Mrs. Illana Moskowitz). 7. Approve Mr. David Hermenau, as an English Teacher at Hampton High School, effective August 23, Salary is $51,812, Master s Step-2. (Mr. Hermenau is replacing Mrs. Candi Thomson). 8. Approve Ms. Lisa Haas, as a Grade 5 Elementary Teacher at Poff Elementary School, effective August 23, Salary is $51,062, Bachelor s Step 2, +24. (Ms. Haas is replacing an open position from last year.) 9. Approve Mr. Michael Thompson, as a.7 FTE Elementary Physical Education Teacher at Wyland Elementary School, effective August 23, Salary is $37,775, Bachelor s Step-1, pro-rated to $26, (Mr. Thompson is replacing Miss Marcy Jack s position, Miss Jack transferred to Central Elementary School, replacing Mr. Daniel Friedeman). 10. Approve Mr. Christopher Ruggeri, as an English Teacher at Hampton High School, effective August 23, Salary is $52,562, Bachelor s Step 4. (Mr. Ruggeri is replacing Ms. Debra Kachurik). Approve Mr. Sam Endlich, moving from a 10 month/5 hour per-day Custodian/Driver, to a 12 month/6 hour per-day Custodian at Hampton High School, effective July 6, Salary is $18.93 per-hour. (Mr. Endlich is replacing Mr. Dave Eversole). 17. Approve Mr. Michael Dyer, moving from a 10 month/5 hour per day Custodian at Hampton High School, to a 10 month/5 hour per-day Custodian Driver, effective August 19, Salary is $18.93 per-hour. (Mr. Dyer is replacing Mr. Endlich s position). 18. Approve Mr. John Glock, as a 10-month/8 hour per-day Custodian at Hampton Middle School, effective August 19, Salary is $18.93 per-hour, with the 60-day probationary period for work evaluation only.
