A Note from the Principal It s almost April Fool s Day. Have fun with it. Tell your child stories of silly mistakes or dumb things you did when you were a kid. Mutual laughter can take the pressure off. Odds and Ends Flower Sale to Benefit St. A. School Library Mrs. Bainbridge will be selling various potted flowers to benefit the school library. Orders are due by April 11th. We have attached an order form at the end of the Buzz. There are samples of geraniums in the hall outside the school office this week to preview. NO HOMEWORK HALL ON THURSDAY, MARCH 30TH EASTER WEEK There will be no sports, sports practices, or meetings during Easter week, (Wednesday April 12- April 16 th.) There will be an Easter Egg hunt on Easter Saturday from 10am - 2pm. St. Athanasius Alumni Award/2017 Nominations We need your help to find the 2017 Outstanding Alumni Candidate. The Nomination form is attached to the Buzz. Please return the form to the school office, collection at Mass, or to: stahornetsschoolboard@gmail.com. Deadline for nominations are Friday, April 29 th. All money collected will go towards Catholic Relief Services/Rice Bowl incentive. YEARBOOKS - Orders are now being taken for the Yearbook. Order forms were sent home yesterday with the students. Extra order forms are available in the school Office. Books are $15/ea. Deadline to order is Friday, April 14 th.

2 Mother-Son Night Bats Baseball game, April 21 st, 7:05 pm. Tickets are $8/ea. Money and regist. forms are due by April 11 th. Check the end of the Buzz for a registration form. Extra forms are also available in the school office. Ms. Blevins is available in the Spanish room on Weds. mornings. The Computer lab will be open on Tues/Weds. mornings from 7:10 7:40 a.m. and Weds/Thurs.after school until 3:30. Students staying after school for computer must have a permission note from a parent. BOX TOPS TURN IN DAY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12 TH This is the last turn in for this school year. Each student turning in at least 50 Box Tops labels will receive a Free Dress Pass. The room with the most labels collected for the year will win a pizza party. FREE DRESS DAY Student Council made $235 on our free dress day for the Scholarship fund on March 23 rd. April 17 April 19 April 20 April 24 GROWING IN THE SPIRIT SAFE Workshops for 2017 All Workshops begin at 6:30 pm St. Athanasius, Cafeteria Holy Trinity School, Multipurpose Bldg. St. Joseph s in Bardstown, Cafeteria Our Lady of Lourdes, Cafeteria Cafeteria News - The Cafeteria no longer sends notices home when a student s lunch acct. is low. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to keep track of their student s balance. Checks and cash may still be sent to the Cafeteria through the students. Please try to keep your child s lunch acct. up-to-date. Students are not allowed to call home to ask for lunch money. Per Archdiocesan policy, any student owing more than $13.25 on their lunch acct. must bring a lunch from home until their acct. is up-to-date. The cafeteria is not obligated to provide students with a lunch. The USDA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Provider. GRANDPARENT LUNCHES All Lunches start at 12:10 pm 12:40 pm. 8 th - Brown April 11 8 th - McCarty April 25 7 th - Rechtenwald May 2 7 th - Todd May 16 EMBRACING ACCOUNTABILITY Homework Hall Students who will be staying for Homework Hall must have a permission form on file. Help is available each Mon. Thurs. afternoons until 3:30 pm. Homework Hall will be in the Library on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Wednesdays it will be in the Spanish Room. All students must be picked up by 3:30 pm from Homework Hall unless they are going to SAFE. SAFE TRAINING On April 17 th, we will be having SAFE Training in the cafeteria, from 6:30-8:30 pm. This is a mandatory class for all those who volunteer, coach, work with, or plan on working around school children. Please call the parish office for questions SAFE Training is for those who are 16 and older. There is no child care available. Altar Servers Students in grades 4 8 th who have had altar server training are strongly encouraged to sign up to serve masses. Serving can be counted towards service hours. In April the group will meet ea. Wednesday at St. A. The group will alternate months at each school. Youth Group Is open to all middle school students in grades 6 8 th.
