2 ZONAL COMPETITIONS Students of East Point School showcased their talents at various Zonal competitions which include Debate(Hindi and English), Poem Recitation and Painting.

3 ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS OF CLASSES IX & XI East Point School organised an Orientation Programme for students and parents of classes IX and XI to address the changes suggested by CBSE for the current academic session on 9th August The session was presided by our principal Ms. Anubha Srivastava. The parents were introduced to the changes in the assessment criteria and the examination system.

4 VAN MAHOTSAV CELEBRATION Van Mahotsav, a week long festival of tree plantation is organized every year in the first week of July across India when millions of trees are planted. East Point School also observed this festival with plantation activity and oath taking ceremony to protect the trees and environment.

5 INDEPENDENCE DAY ACTIVITY (CLASS XI-XII) An Inter-house competition on the topic How well do I know my country was held to test the knowledge of students and to make them aware about some unknown facts about India. Radhakrishnan house attained first position, followed by Nehru and Tagore house as first and second runners-up.

6 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION East Point School celebrated India's 72nd Independence Day on 14th August 2018 in the school premises. The day was graced by the esteem presence of Mr. Abhishek Srivastava as the chief guest for the day. A journalist by heart he shared with the students the intricate and chilling glimpses of his stay in Afghanistan during the war. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the national flag and the national anthem being sung.the day saw a realm of cultural events. This day shall be revered and remembered for not only its divinity but as a felicitation to all who struggled to see this day.

7 MATHS WEEK East Point School observed Maths Week to instill curiosity and analytical mathematical ability. MATHS DAY CAMP In an attempt to make Maths fun, Maths day camp was organized for class X. Students were involved in variety of fun filled yet informative activities like interactive workshop on Trigonometry and movie screening of A man who knew infinity Maths Quiz for classes IX to XII was also organized where students emerged with their mathematical prowess.

8 INTER HOUSE MATHS QUIZ Maths Quiz was conducted house wise. It had three rounds 1. Central Tendency:-Student were asked questions based on mode, median, mean. 2. Interpretation of charts/graphs:- Students were asked questions based on the pie charts, graphs shown to them using Ppt 3. Rapid fire Round:- Students were asked questions where they had to calculate and analyze simultaneously.

9 ETHOS is a specially woven event that is crafted for nourishing each child s latent potential. ETHOS provides a platform to provide opportunities within a broad and balanced curriculum so that each child can achieve success and can fulfill his or her potential. Students can be developed as rounded individuals socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and creatively

10 SPECTRUM (SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM) The topic of Spectrum was Energy transitions or Topological insulators. The students of classes IX to XII were supposed to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation on either one of the topics mentioned, supplemented with a model. Lavanya Bhat of East Point School was awarded with Best Orator prize.

11 CYBERNATE (MOVIE MAKING COMPETITION) The topics of Cybernate were The day when cybernetics & cyborgs ruled all or The age of artificial intelligence and automation. The students were supposed to weave a story which highlights the theme and the message.

12 RHETORIC (DEBATE COMPETITION) The topic of Rhetoric was Globalisation will inevitably lead to total loss of cultural identity. Each team was comprised of two students- one for and one against the motion. The students presented their thoughts and creativity followed by interjection from the adjudication panel and the rebuttal round.

13 CRESCENT (ART COMPETITION) The topic of this event was "Tribal art - warli art or Madhubani art. The students of classes IX to XII were supposed to use water colours for the competition. The students showcased their aesthetic knowledge and originality with great vigour.

14 ETHEREAL (GARDENING COMPETITION) Each team of students was supposed to present any one of the following gardens: -medicinal garden, -floral garden, -ornamental garden, -succulent garden, -rock garden Students portrayed their creativity using eco-friendly products.

15 MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN) MUN is one of the activities which helps young minds to think critically and to be aware of different things happening around them. It was a good session, wherein the future leaders, the yound minds presented their views on the given topic and debated on different parameters related to the topic. Topic for this year s MUN was Right to Privacy in the Digital Age DAV Shrestha Vihar bagged best team s award

16 WORKSHOPS Class IX student Kumar Utkarsh participated in Robotics workshop, organised by ASN School, Mayur Vihar, and developed a model of parking signal. Subject expert Mr.Hukum Singh had an interactive session with the teachers of Maths department where he discussed various classroom problems which teachers face in their day to day interactions with students along with suggesting the solutions. A workshop was organised by Millenium India Organisation Foundation for class X students to encourage them to participate in the project called Preserving our biosphere. Resource person for this event was Dr. Nidhi, Assistant Professor, Delhi University.

17 WORKSHOPS IT Vocational workshop for class IX was oraganised to make students apprised of the new curriculum. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Anjum Askari and Ms. Sunita Sahu with special emphasis on the unit called Funtional English. Class X students participated in Be a scientist for one day, a workshop organised by WWF, as a part of Dragonfly festival. Ms. Nazneen was the resource person who is researching on the behaviour of Dragonflies.

18 NATIONAL SPORTS DAY The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on 29 August each year. This day marks the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand Singh, the hockey player who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928, 1932 and To instill the spirit of sportsmanship, East Point School celebrated National Sports Day with the activities such as kabbadi, kho-kho and athletics.
