2 Generalate News Fr. Jojo went Meenangadi for giving classes for Vincentian Sisters. Fr. George Vettaparambil gives classes on every Wednesday in St. Joseph Seminary, Mangalapuzha. Visitors Bishops Mar Rafy Manjaly, Mar Joseph Kodakallil and Frs. Roy Varakath, Joshy Kottackal, Varghese Thurithichira, Joseph Edattu Sr., Thomas Chettiyil, Francis Muthukathaniyil and Varghese Puthussery visited Generalate. Our Family Gathering Our annual Family Gathering at the Generalate level was held in the Generalate on the 7th of January On the same day, a cordial reception was given to our beloved Golden and Silver Jubilarians and the New Priests. Around 130 confrers participated in the gathering. Frist Session of Gathering began at 9:30 am. It was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Varghese Parappuram. Then Provincials presented the report of the respective Province. Fr. George Vettaprambil presented the financial report. 2

3 Frs. Jojo Marrippatu and Mathew Vattakuzhy presented the report of their respective offices. By 11:15 am all were gathered at the main chapel for the Holy Mass. Fr. Augustine Vallooran Sr. was the main celebrant in the function. Other Golden Jubilarians Frs. Joseph Arackal, Joseph Thalanany and Kavumkal John, Silver Jubilarians Frs. George Vettaparambil, Antony Mangalath, Augustine Puthenpura, Jose Chettoor and Sebastian Thundathikunnel and New Priests Frs. Adappoor Joseph, Elampassery James, Kalapurackal George, Kanakkat Thomas, Kanayinkal Joseph, Kannamkery Sebastian, Kochutharayil Philip, Kulathinkal Joseph, Kunnappilly Augustine, Madhanu Anil Lourdhu, Marottipara Joseph, Mukkattukavungal Antony. Mupathiyil George, Nellamthadathil Thomas, Panthackal Jacob, Varekulam Joseph, Velickakathu Thomas and Vilakkunnel Sebastian were concelebrants. Fr. James Chelepurath gave the homily. The close relatives of the Golden Jubilarian swere also present for the Holy Mass. In the afternoon session congregation honoured Fr. Emmanuael Paliyakunnnel for propagating Vincentian spiritualty through selling the life history of Vincent De Paul, written by the late Fr. Mathew Kachappilly. Afterwards there was a documentary video show on the Jubilarains. It was produced by GiFT, Cochin under the leadership of Fr. Daision Vettiyadan. Fr. Jobin Koshackal introduced the New Priests. 3

4 News from Marymatha Provincial House, Angamaly. Arrival and Departure Fr. Paul Gnalian doing pastoral ministry in Germany has come for his holidays. He arrived on January 1, Fr. Joby Kachappilly left to Rome for higher studies on January 3, Fr. George Chatholil doing pastoral ministry in Canada arrived on January 4, 2017 for his annual holidays. Fr. Saji Vadakkemury who came for holydays and for treatment left to Uganda on January 6, Reception to the New Priests The back yard of the Vincentian House Angamaly was colourfully adorned with lights and balloons to welcome the News Priests of the congregation on January 8, Fifteen of the New Priests belonging to the three Provinces arrived in the evening. At 8.00 pm all the members of the House gathered at the back yard of the House and cheerfully greeted the new buds. Fr. Augustine Puthenpura led the gathering in prayer. Fr. Provincial welcomed all and felicitated the New Priests. Then the New Priests introduced one another. Fr. Jojo Varekulam proposed the vote of thanks representing the New Priest. The anchoring was done by Fr. Jibin Erambil. All enjoyed the delicious and sumptuous dinner. Next morning all the New Priests celebrated Holy Eucharist with the faithful in the Main Chapel. 5 Health Corner Fr. Thomas Nellanikkattu underwent angioplasty and is now taking rest in the Provincial house. Fr. Antony Aluvassery is discharged from LF Hospital, Angamaly. He is taking rest at Provincial House. News from St. Joseph Provincial House, Kottayam. There were Eight Priestly Ordinations in the Province this year. Reception to the New Priests and to the Golden Jubilarian Rev. Fr. Joseph Arackal, on behalf of the Province, was conducted at Vincentian Minor Seminary, Pala on 08 th January, Fr. Neeruvelil Ebin is in the Popular Mission retreat going on at Kurichithanam. News From De Paul, Bengaluru. After the Christmas holidays, we are to begin the last trimester of this academic year. Fr. Patrick D Souza and his team have arrived here to take classes for the brothers on Human Personality Enhancement Programme. The classes are from 4th to 10th of January, from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Fathers have participated some of the ordinations of the congregation. Fr. Roy Varakath went to Vadavathoor seminary, Kottayam for taking class for the philosophy students. 5
