3 Message We are committed to promote Sports and Games at all levels in the campus with a two fold objective. One is to help the students stay physically fit and healthy and the other is to help the students to have better understanding, better coordination and lead a meaningful life. The talents of the students are identified and focused training is given to them to excel in sports performance. The efforts of the faculty of Physical Education are laudable as our students have brought many laurels to the Institution by winning a number of competitions. And it is our wish to strive hard towards better excellence and ultimately taking the Institution to the dizzy heights of excellence that is, placing it in the national sports map of India. The Department is equipped with good infrastructure facilities. We are taking part in nearly 34 Sports & games in various categories including men & women, proper & scientific training is given to the students by the faculties from our own department to achieve greater level. Vision To strive for excellence in the promotion of sports and games for the holistic development of the students. Mission The department is committed to promote Sports and Games in the campus striving to make students physically fit and enrich interpersonal skills besides advocating emotional and spiritual quotient as a part of the students personality development programme. 10 Intramural sports Department of Physical Education organized intramural sports in a grant manner. The first meeting of Inter-Department sports was held on 7th January p.m at Dean Office. The Inter-Department tournament date was scheduled from st January 07 in the men section. The department conducted 5th sports and games conducted respectively men section for Ball Badminton, Chess, Handball, Table Tennis, Football, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Badminton, Kabaddi, Hockey, Volleyball, Tennis and Athletics, in women section 5 sports and games conducted respectively Ball Badminton, Chess, Tennikoit, Handball, Table Tennis, Football, Kho-Kho, Throw ball, Basketball, Boxing, Badminton, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket and Athletics. The Inter-Department sports inaugurated by our Dean with Table Tennis men & women and ended with Athletics men & women. Almost 000 students participated in the Intramural sports from the men side 00 students and women side 900 students. Department also conducted sports and games for the staff members of UCE- BIT campus. Sports Day UCE- BIT campus grandly celebrated Sports Day on 7th march 07. The Chief Guest was Mr.T.Senthilkumar, Superintendent of Police; Trichy delivered chief guest address and distributed the prizes. He distributed 554 medals for the men section and 449 medals for the women section and 3 trophies. March past was also organized in a grand manner. Almost 480 contingents participated in March - past including 400 students, 5 NCC contingents. Computer Science Engineering department won the overall trophy for the year
