Well Oyster Bay really knows how to have a festival! Right from the start on Friday night the scene was set for a fantastic weekend! The mayor, Carmelo Pesce, was amazed at the partnership of our staff and whole school community that work together to make this festival more and more successful each year. To the Art and Craft committee Thank you! This group of people were a well - oiled machine as they solved problems, organised art, craft, rides and ensured the success of the whole weekend. The committee are led by Rebecca Rathbone, Bronwyn Severino and Melanie Jones who I cannot be more thankful for their professionalism and leadership of this event. Thank you also extends to the fantastic volunteers throughout the weekend and also to the staff of Oyster Bay PS every one of the staff at our school volunteered for a shift and also came to organise students for their performances on Sunday. This is what makes Oyster Bay PS an amazing place to be. Thank you from all the students of Oyster Bay PS - to all involved! 1
2 Congratulations to Ashleigh.H, Mia.R and Madeline.L who have made the Zone netball team. Netball has become fiercely competitive over the years as it has grown in popularity. Positions for this team are highly contested and Mrs Spencer reported that the girls were outstanding and I am sure will represent our school and our Zone with pride. Well done! We have been lucky enough to allocate some extra funding into programs facilitating learning support for our students. To staff this successfully Mrs Fisher has taken some of the Kindergarten RFF and Mrs Rayment will now be taking Stage 3 Science on Wednesdays. This will allow extra support for students with Mrs Watson. This Friday will be K-2 Assembly at 10am and 3-6 Assembly at 2pm. All parents are welcome to these assemblies each week where students are awarded for their hard work and for displaying our school values. This is a great opportunity to watch our students lead our school through presentations of work, singing and practice public speaking and leadership skills. There will be many changes over the coming weeks to the K-2 site. The canteen will be completely refurbished and because of this, it will not be functional. Please remember (until further notice) that: Lunch orders for K-2 are Mondays and Wednesdays only. 3-6 lunch orders will be Thursday and Fridays only. Thank you for your patience while this is happening. Wanita Bowles Principal 2

6 Class of the Week: 6B & 6W Year 6 Bates Drive Program This term, our year 6 students are once again participating in the Bates Drive program. This gives students from Bates Drive an opportunity to come to our school and interact with our year 6 students. This has been an extremely valuable program for our Oyster Bay students as it allows them to plan and create activities for other children with significant disabilities. It has been fantastic to see how year 6 has embraced the responsibility. Each and every student involved has shown an exceptional amount of respect and kindness towards our visitors. Well done year 6! 6
7 Year 6 hosting students from Bates Drive School. The activities planned were enjoyed by all. Lots of happy faces. 7
