Breakfast is your choice every day of: pancakes, waffles, cereal, or toast, a juice and a milk HOCKEYVILLE PARADE Saturday, Sept. 23, Line-Up at the Old Post Office (corner of Broad & Market) between 9:30-10:30 am Wear Spirit Wear (available at Bee Graphics or on the enclosed monthly order form) You ll be given a banner and a hockey stick to carry. **Please let us know if you can attend** It s a big parade with many bands and groups, being broadcast on TV. Celebrate St. Sebastian Regional Catholic School by showing your smiling faces! Classroom Activities 2 nd grade is completing their own community maps and comparing and contrasting maps and globes. Please send in a set of earbuds with your child (available at the dollar store), so everyone has their own set and no one is tempted to use someone else s NEXT WEEK is Constitution Week (Sept ) We are One Nation Under God! 2 Principal s Reminder 9/15/17 Bishop Requested Survey As you may know, Pope Francis has called for a Synod on Young Adults, Faith, and Vocational Discernment. As part of the synod he is looking for feedback from across the world. The Diocese of Greensburg has created an online survey for those aged years old. We are asking those parents within this age bracket to please complete this survey or if you have children in this age bracket, please ask them to complete the survey. It can be found here: We would like to include your voices in what will eventually be forwarded on from our Diocese to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and then to the Vatican. Thank you for your help with this. Reminders Picture Day wear your uniform; 9/19 for PreK, 4-8; 9/20 for PreK, K-3, and Teachers Breakfast and Lunch We have lunch down to a science! Pizza was a huge success! Breakfast and lunch are available every day except first Fridays, but Lunch must be ordered at least the day before. Even if you are receiving a free or reduced lunch, you must make a selection of a regular meal or the alternative for a lunch to be available to you. If you order a lunch and choose to pack that day, you will be charged for the lunch you ordered. Breakfast is $1.50, and a hot lunch (alternatives available) is $3.25. Menus are available on the website. Snacks are also available for purchase. Students must finish their lunches BEFORE they can buy snacks (except water). Snack Prices: Chips Variety $1.00 Nutri Grain Bars $1.00 Rice Krispy Treats $1.00 Animal Crackers $.50 Small Water $.75 Free Samples were offered this week. The kiddos LOVED the Spicy BBQ Chicken and today s pizza. 8 th grade offered the samples. Thank you ladies! Love the hairnets. Power Lunch Accounts: Your child has a barcode, which we scan as s/he goes through the breakfast and/or lunch line. It will also be scanned if your child orders a lunch and then packs that day. The charges for those meals will be deducted from their Power Lunch accounts. As your account nears a low balance, you will receive a text/ from Power Lunch. Students with a low or no balance may not purchase snacks through the system. After School STEM ENRICHMENT Program Offered to any St. Sebastian student in grades 3-5, Monday through Thursday every week beginning in October, at Monessen Elementary. The Monessen bus will transport your child from St. Sebastian to Monessen Elementary. Students who live in the Monessen School District will receive free Pg. 2

Application available on the website under Family Resources. Lost and Not Found Yet Are either of these yours? Tuition Reduction Fundraising October calendar tickets are on sale now. If you can sell them, please take extra tickets so that you can fundraise your entire tuition. SCRIP Sign Up NOW/Start Saving Now Save hundreds of dollars on your tuition! Everything you earn will be applied to this year s tuition and deducted from your balance. All of our Grandparents who attended Grandparents Day on Sept. 11, It was a beautiful day as our students honored our collective grandparents, and we celebrated Mass together. Our lunchroom/recess volunteers please sign up. We really need recess volunteers on Fridays. PTG for hosting our Grandparents Day, Fr. Frank for celebrating a Mass for our grandparents, and all of our Grandparents who attended! All of you who attended Fr. Frank s Installation at St. Sebastian Parish. School Fundraising COSMIC Bingo! Just send in a request for your book of discount coupons for both national and local businesses. The cost of a book is $30. We will send it home with your child. He is very supportive and loving to the School and your children. We were blessed to have Bishop Malesic, a number of the Diocesan Priests, representatives from the Philippines, and Abby and Ally Peden be part of the celebration of the Mass.
