5 Items required for use in the boarding house Two pairs of pyjamas Dressing gown Pair of bedroom slippers or flip flops Hairbrush and comb Toiletry bag containing: flannel, sponge (optional), shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste Three towels no larger than 70cm by 120cm (looped in centre and named) Duvet cover (this can be provided by the school if required). Sheets, pillowcases and duvets are provided by the school. Play clothes (for weekend wear) relatively smart, please! There is limited storage space for personal items, so each boy should bring back NO MORE THAN: Two shirts Two sweaters Two pairs of jeans or trousers/shorts Anorak Pair of training shoes or casual shoes Wellington boots All clearly marked please. NB All clothing will be tumble-dried For new boys only Three dozen spare name tapes Please ensure that everything sent to school is clearly marked. It is, therefore, very important that ALL clothes brought back to school carry a label which ensures they can be tumble dried. In the short holidays all uniform except that worn for travelling will be kept at school, though winter games clothes will be sent home with those children living in this country at the end of the Spring Term. Children living overseas will leave everything at school in all the holidays unless parents request otherwise. 9 St Andrew s Prep uniform regulations Blazers should be worn to and from school as well as to assemblies and chapel. Girls should not wear their summer dresses after returning from the half term break in the Autumn Term and they should not wear their grey skirts after returning from the half term break in the Summer Term. School fleeces (winter only) and school coats can be worn to and from school instead of, or over the top of, blazers. If they are worn instead of blazers for those journeys, the blazers must be kept in school ready for chapel and assembly. School coats and fleeces (winter only) are not to be worn inside unless the temperature is particularly cold and children are told otherwise. Children should be encouraged to wear jumpers with blazers when the weather is cold Girls Hair Longer hair should be tied back with maroon, plain brown or black hair bands, clips, etc. Girls should not wear adornments in their hair such as flowers. The school shop stocks a wide selection of maroon hair accessories. Jewellery Children are permitted to wear one friendship bracelet. No rings should be worn. Girls may wear stud earrings only. St Andrew s Prep classroom equipment Children in Years 3 and 4 should each have Pencil case Pencils Pencil sharpener Rubber * School book bag A good quality ink pen (we recommend a Parker Vector cartridge pen with medium nib) Spare cartridges (royal blue washable only) Berol handwriting pen (Handhugger for Year 3) 30cm ruler (a short one is not sufficient) rigid and not flexible Pritt stick Children in Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 require Pencil case including pencil crayons, felt tipped pens, Pritt stick, pencil sharpener, rubber etc. A good quality ink pen (we recommend a Parker Vector cartridge pen with medium nib) Spare cartridges (royal blue washable only) 30cm ruler (a short one is not sufficient) rigid and not flexible Full geometry set including protractor and a pair of compasses Scientific calculator; we recommend a Casio (Scientific) fx-83gt A small French Dictionary (eg Collins French Pocket Dictionary ISBN ) Everything on this classroom equipment list can be bought from the School Shop. Optional Electronic Spellmaster or other spell checker Translator for EAL pupils ALL ITEMS MUST BE NAMED Only washable blue ink should be used in school, never permanent black ink. 9

10 St Andrew s Prep uniform hire packs for short stay St Andrew s children wear a school uniform which can be purchased from our own School Shop. New uniform purchased can be returned to the shop at the end of a child s stay and a refund, generally 25% for items in good condition, will be refunded. We also offer a rental scheme of items from our in-house stock of good quality second hand uniform, where available. This scheme is available for 90 for a term or less. The list below shows the items that can be hired from the school shop by prior arrangement. A full list of uniform requirements and a price list are available on the school s website. All uniform (and home clothes) must be named. We can order name tapes and arrange for these to be sewn onto each individual item including home clothes, which is included in the hire cost. We are unable to loan the following: Football boots (autumn only), socks*, swimming cap*, towels, navy swimming shorts* or swimming costume*, summer hats* and tights*. Those items marked with * can be purchased from the school shop. Please refer to uniform and price lists. Please note: All classroom equipment and stationery can be purchased from the School Shop, or may be brought from home. Please refer to the uniform list for full details.
