1 DUFFERIN PEEL CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD Catholic School Improvement Learning Cycle St. Jude Separate School MISSION STATEMENT The staff and students at St. Jude School Catholic Elementary School celebrate spirituality and diversity through achieving, believing and community living in an inclusive Catholic environment. The parents of St. Jude Catholic School, in partnership with staff and students, are dedicated to our children's spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development in a secure environment, at home and in class. Working together, we attain success by educating students to their full potential. The students of St. Jude Catholic School act and learn as a Catholic community. We demonstrate our love for God by respecting each other and by trying to meet the expectations of our students, parents and teachers. Our Mission Statement outlines that the partners in Catholic Education, staff, parents/guardians and parish will promote effective communication and meaningful supports for the betterment of all our students. Hope, Opportunity, Prayer, Empathy CATHOLIC CATHOLIC FOCUS St. Jude Catholic School opened in September 1987 and was blessed on April 29, The school moved into its new building at 175 Nahani Way in September St. Jude Catholic is located in the heart of the City of Mississauga and has a student population of just over 310 students. Although the school's parish is St. Francis Xavier, a number of students belong to St. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Catholic Parish, which is located immediately next to the school. The school is named after St. Jude, the patron saint of hopeless causes. He was one of Jesus' twelve Apostles and was martyred in Armenia. His feast day is October 28th. St. Jude Catholic School believes that our Catholic faith, as expressed through the Gospel values, is the driving force in our school community of learners, which includes students, parish, home and community. Our school strives to be Christ-centered so that all may work and learn in a supportive, inclusive, meaningful, and respectful environment. Within the context of an authentic Catholic learning environment, St. Jude Catholic Elementary School attempts to provide students with the opportunity to realize their full potential and develop into skilled, knowledgeable, caring citizens who contribute positively to society within the framework of our Catholic school graduate expectations.

2 St. Jude Catholic School consistently use religious resources to deepen student understanding of Scripture. We provide access to an increased number of adult faith opportunities, resources, and retreats and focus on interpreting Scripture and connecting it to modern contexts for adults and students.
