YEAR 12 Interviews Thursday, March 21, 20134PM 6.30PM SASI Talent Identification 2013 Each year students in Year 7-11 at Temple participate in the South Australian Sports Institute Talent Search program which aims to identify high school aged students who may have the ability to succeed in elite sport. The initial identification process (Phase 1) begins with an appraisal of the fitness testing results submitted by the school. These results are obtained during Physical Education lessons and will consist of some basic physical and physiological measures. The program looks for the characteristics that identify potential in students in sports they may not have considered or may not had opportunities to explore before. All discretion is used when recording the results of students, and this information is passed directly to the South Australian Sports Institute. Promising students are subsequently invited to further testing with SASI at school during Term 2, and may continue on to talent development programs. Please see enclosed In Yellow previous years we have had a number of students who have been offered places in form for further details. development programs in Volleyball, Kayaking and Cycling. We currently have 4, Year 8 and 9 students in the Kayaking development program through SASI. If you have any questions regarding the program, or would like further information please do not hesitate to contact me on Ph: or via magan.schaefer@templecc.sa.edu.au Magan Schaefer, PE, Health and Sport Coordinator
