Nowadays we are a Post-Primary Catholic co-educational day school under the trusteeship of the Le Chéile Trustee group. The Le Chéile Schools Trust comprises the schools of fourteen religious congregations, the nearest being the Ursuline in Thurles. The aim of the Trust is to carry on the legal, financial and inspirational role of trusteeship that has, up to now, been done by individual congregations. It carries out the legal and inspirational role of trusteeship. This is a significant development in Irish education as the Catholic Church and the individual religious congregations renew and reformulate their commitment to Irish education. The excellent relationship shared by our teachers and students creates a positive setting for progress and success in the classroom. are in classes of mixed ability, with a good working atmosphere in each class. At all times, the student is the focus of our attention and our Student Support Team is always on hand to support individual pupils experiencing particular family or personal difficulties. Through fund-raining, they have provided in recent years new P.E. equipment, valuable resources for our Learning Support teacher and for the Library. In conjuction with the Religion Department in the school, they promote and fund two 5 th Year students to travel as volunteers to Lourdes with the Diocesan Pilgrimage each year. The association also regularly sponsors Study Skills days for our students, mock interviews for the Leaving Certificate pupils and have been generous in their sponsorship of the awards on Prize Giving Day. They also fund a grant to help students attend a Gaeltacht summer course. Career Guidance and Counselling Service Our Counsellor is always on hand to support students of the school. Students have to make significant decisions while still in school. These choices are related to personal and social issues, educational issues and career choice. Our Guidance Counsellor is a trained professional with the expertise and knowledge to aid with these decisions. This is implemented through individual consultation, guidance classes and other activities.
