1 8 th May, 2008 Dear Cambrians INTRODUCTION Impala Club is a private members club sitting on 23 acres of prime land along Ngong Road. It is situated between the populous areas of Adams Arcade, Dagoretti Corner and Jamhuri Estates. MEMBERSHIP AND FACILITIES The current active membership of the club stands at around 700 members. However the club has the potential to accommodate up to 2,000 members. The members enjoy a wide range of facilities including; a) A members lounge with well stocked bar. b) Catering facility offering fairly priced and delicious meals. c) A floodlit rugby pitch that is home to the season opening Impala Floodlit Rugby Tournament. d) Separate hockey and soccer pitches. e) Six tennis and five squash courts. f) Cricket pitch with own pavilion. g) Thirty three-metre swimming pool with baby pool and changing rooms. h) Big screen TV in the main lounge. i) Ample and secure parking for members backed by manned security and radio alarm. j) Amusement park for the children. Due to its strategic location and expansive grounds, the club hosts many schools, which contribute a substantial amount of revenue. The club has also recently opened a modern health club equipped with state of the art cardio and strength machines. It also includes an aerobic studio and separate massage spa, steam and sauna for both men and women. FUTURE PLANS In order to ensure members continued enjoyment of their club, the following developments and plans are being implemented; a) Construction of 30 hotel rooms. b) Expanded and refurbished swimming pool bar complete with choma banda, rest garden and expanded changing rooms. c) Golf practice range with driving range, putting and pitching greens and bunkers. d) Floodlit jogging track. e) Expanded members lounge with adjacent beer garden to accommodate various indoor games. f) Expanded parking lot with cabro works finishing and car wash facility. g) Ladies salon, gents barber shop and sports wear shop. 2 h) Fully equipped business centre with current communication facilities. GROWTH Since the opening of the health club twelve months ago, the club has experienced a tremendous surge in membership due to both individual and corporate interest. The favourable joining rates have also contributed to the increased membership. The club intends to pursue the growth in membership through increased marketing and promotions. PARTNERSHIP Former Nairobi School students known as the Old Cambrians offer for membership is a discounted at Kshs.20, 000/- instead of the prevailing Ks.40, 000/- entrance fees. This excludes the annual subscriptions of Ks.3,400/- instead of Kshs.10,000/- or 8, 000/- for joint and single members respectively. Once registered as a member of the club, one is able to access the low health club rates on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. The above listed facilities are also available for the enjoyment of members. CONCLUSION Our club has witnessed tremendous growth in the last two years and this is expected to continue into the future considering the increased membership and support from our bankers and clientele.
