His followers like Mahatma Hansraj, Lala Lajapat Rai, started the 1 st DAV Public School at Lahore (now in Pakistan) in 1886 to spread and implement his ideas and values making his Vision a reality. DAV is the largest Non-Government Organization in the field of academic excellence. Now it has grown into a network of nearly 800 Institutions in India and abroad, catering to various needs of the Society Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) Schools combine the Vedic values and knowledge with the Western (Anglo) Science and Technology to provide value based high-tech education to the next generation. THE SCHOOL DAV Public School Bokaro Sector 4 was established in the year 1973 and managed by DAV College Managing Committee. It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Serves Co- Education. DAV schools follow the course and syllabi of 10+2 pattern of the Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. It run classes from L.K.G. to XII standard. It has +2 classes having all 3 Streams in Science, Commerce and Arts. The medium of Instruction is English. Class X students prepare for senior secondary examination whereas class XII students prepare for All India Senior School Certificate Examination. These exams are conducted and monitored by CBSE.

4 INFRASTRUCTURE School Campus The school is ideally situated at the heart of the city in Sector IV of Bokaro Steel City at 8 acres plot. It has its own spacious and impressive building together with vast and well maintained lush green play field. Laboratories The school has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Geography. Music and Dance Rooms The school has provision for well-equipped vocal music, instrumental music and dance rooms where the students are trained in various forms of performing arts. Library The school has well equipped library with a largest stock of books including Encyclopedias, Fiction, and Reference Books etc. The library also subscribes to a number of dailies, magazines and journals. 6 Computer Laboratories The school is well equipped with computer laboratories for all the sections. Every student gets a chance to do the practicals on separate computer. The computers are well equipped with latest software. Digital Classroom The school possesses digital classroom for each section. English Language Lab The School complies with the latest norms of CBSE. As per the latest amendment CBSE has incorporated ASL skills into the curriculum. 8 ADMISSION Admissions are given for classes LKG to Class-XI against existing vacancy. The parents who wish to get their children enrolled in this school should get their names registered in the school office during the month of December- February. Kindly go through the rules and regulations regarding the admission procedure before applying for admission in our school. It is important for parents to understand the admission process thoroughly. Limited number of students are admitted in each class. The admission process is highly competitive and selection is made entirely on merit. Parents of the students from other cities are required to provide a local guardian for their children. These local guardians are required to give a duly signed undertaking of their responsibility and must abide by the rules and regulations of the school. Students must submit TC of the previous school at the time of admission. Full fees can be paid at the time of admission. Students can either apply online for admission/ registration or download the admission registration form from our website. Students must submit the form duly filled along with all necessary documents and registration fee. Admission/registration form must be submitted along with a draft or cash of ` 1000/- (One thousand only) for Nursery class till class XI. General Rules For Admission Form submission timings are between 8.00 am to 1.00 pm on all working days. School prospectus and admission/registration form is also available at the school office with the payment of same amount as above. Most important, please do remember to collect the payment receipt. This receipt is required to be submitted back along with the duly filled in admission/registration form and necessary supporting documents. Application/registration forms will not be accepted, if it is not accompanied by the payment receipt. Parents must produce the following documents while submitting admission form: a) Original and photocopy of date of birth certificate. b) Residence proof. c) Copy of report card of previous class from Std III onwards. d) Passport size photograph (2 pcs) of father and mother. There will be no change in DATE OF BIRTH, NAME/SPELLING of any one (Father/Mother/Child), once the admission is granted. No fee will be refunded once admission is granted. 75% attendance is required for appearing at the annual examination and promotion to the next higher class. 12 HOUSE SYSTEM The students of the school are divided into four Houses, each at the Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary level. The House is managed by Housemasters/Housemistress. The Housemasters select House Captains, Assistant House Captains and Sports Captains. It is compulsory for every student to be a member of a House. The main idea of the House System is to inculcate in them the essential qualities of leadership, team work, co-operation, mutual understanding and self- reliance. Various inter-house activities are held for this purpose throughout the year. Name of the houses: Dayanand House Virjanand House Shradhanand House Vivekanand House PARENT AND GUARDIAN MEETING As we are a community of learners with the children being the most vital members, we seek utmost co-operation from the parents. Regular Parent-Teacher meetings are conducted to help parents to know about the progress of their children. IDENTITY CARD Children in all classes must wear an identity card provided by the school. The card will bear identification particulars and a passport size photograph of the child. Loss of identity card must be immediately reported to the school authorities. Promotion of life skills : Counseling A wide spectrum of counselling is provided to all for better prospectus.
