Objectives of our Vidyalaya Library Supporting and enhancing educational goals as outlined in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan s mission and curriculum. Be the knowledge hub of the school and disseminate knowledge as widely as possible. Provide a curriculum-based, flexibly scheduled, open access learning environment that accommodates all learners. Technology has touched and transformed our lives like never before in every aspect of our life, be it academic, professional or entertainment, It has been revolutionalised by its miraculous impact. It is the most important event organized annually by the UNESCO in order to promote the reading, publishing and copyright among the public worldwide. 18 National Unity Day31 st Oct.2014 Kendirya Vidyalaya No.1, Devlali (Nashik) Sardar Vallabhhbai Patel, our first Home Minister and freedom fighter was born on 31 st October 1875 in Gujrat. He was a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi and actively participated in the freedom movement. He played a major role in the integration of princely states into india.his birth aniversary is being celebrated as National Unity Day. 19 National Education Day (11 th Nov.2014) National Education Day Celebrated in KV No.1 Devlali and arranged different types of competitions Kendirya Vidyalaya No.1, Devlali 11 th Nov is the birth date of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad - first Union Minister of Education of independent India. To commemorate his birthday, Govt.of India decided (on Sept 11, 2008) to celebrate National Education day on 11 th Nov every year. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was born on November 11, 1888 in Mecca, Islam's main center of pilgrimage. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad's real name was Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin. Maulana Azad had his initial formal education in Arabic, Persian and Urdu with theological orientation and then philosophy, geometry, mathematics and algebra. He also learnt English language, world history, and politics on his own. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was a renowned journalist of his time. Disturbed by his provocative articles, the British Government decided to deport him off Calcutta. Despite of his house-arrest and imprisonment, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad continued to write against the anti-people policies of the British Government. He was elected as Congress President in 1923 and Despite being a Muslim, Azad often stood against the policies of the prominent Muslims leaders like Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Azad was the first education minister of independent India. On February 22, 1958 Maulana Abul Kalam Azad passed away. 20 Kendirya Vidyalaya No.1 Devlali (Nashik) National Library Week is celebrated every year to commemorate the birthday of first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The celebrations all over the country commence from Children s Day i.e. 14 th November and continue till 20 November. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru loved children. He envisaged a future where children will grow up in an environment of book reading and book buying. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru instituted National Book Trust, India on 1 August 1957 with an objective to spread the book- reading culture thereby creating a learning society.
