Description Henry Perrine Baldwin High (BHS) is located in Wailuku, Maui. Wailuku is nestled at the foothills of the West Maui Mountains in Central Maui. Baldwin High is part of the Baldwin Complex, which currently serves just fewer than 4,200 students, most of whom live in the towns of Wailuku, Waikapu, Waihee, and Kahakaloa. Students in the complex attend one of five schools: Pu ukukui, Waihee or Wailuku Elementary (K-5), Iao Intermediate (6-8), or Baldwin High (9-12). Of the approximate 4,200 students, Baldwin High services approximately 1500 students. The BHS community is economically and ethnically diverse. The social/economic range of the families of Baldwin students includes low to high-income families with the middle-income sector being the largest. The median household brings in $50,000 a year. Families below the poverty level stand at 36%. Within the school s complex area are the seat of government, business and industrial sectors, homeless and transitional shelters, Federal housing projects, Hawaiian homelands, agricultural businesses, and low to upscale residential areas.
