To provide our students with the best possible learning environment. As a school we will focus on the same area for a number of weeks so that students work to improve their positive behaviours. Return to School for 2018 Students Years 1-6 return to school on Tuesday 30 January Our new Kindergarten students will start Friday 2 February Principal s Report Thank you to everyone who attended last week s Presentation Day Ceremony. Congratulations to not only our award recipients but to each and every student on the personal goals and achievements you have reached in I am immensely proud of them all and our very special school. Thank you to Ms Imseih for coordinating this very important event. Thank you also to our 2017 captains and vice captains: Nellie M and Deakin R, Alicia O, and Joel W. for compering the ceremony. Congratulations to our new 2018 Captains: Keshev N. and Tyler G. and Vice Captains: David C. and Maddie L. Our carols evening last Thursday was another success, it is always such a fun event. Thank you to everyone who attended. Special thanks to Mrs Crawford for her enthusiasm and wonderful organisation. Thank you to students, parents and teachers past and present who formed the talented carols orchestra. Finally, thank you to our canteen parents who arranged the great meal. Vanessa Roach - Assistant Principal Wednesday: Year 6 Farewell Year 5 and 6 will be attending the Year 6 farewell this week. TIME: 6-9pm LOCATION: North Ryde Golf Club - The Auditorium DRESS CODE: Smart Casual (flat enclosed shoes) Parents are invited to come at 8.30pm to enjoy the speeches and for the special viewing of the farewell video. Friday: Last day for all students This Friday is the last day for all students for Join us for the Year 6 farewell arch at 2.45pm on Friday. P & C News Thanks to everyone who donated food at Carols Nights, with your generosity we were able to collect over 200 items of food that have now been donated to North Ryde Community Aid. These items will be packed into hampers and distributed to those in need within our community next week. Thanks to Kirralie Thomas Geraghty, our P & C Executive Officer who organised the raffle for Carols night. We raised over $350. Thanks to the students who helped sell the tickets on the night and to those who donated prizes especially the tickets to the wonderful productions of Beautiful the Carole King Musical and MAMMA MIA!. Zoe Williamson P & C President Thank you A big thank you to all our Canteen helpers on the Carols night. Angela I, Nicole, Jamie, EJ, Carolina, Ishani, Jackie, Jayden and Amelia. A special thanks to Bo and Kiyomi for all their effort in the lead up to the event and on the night. Canteen Closure The Canteen will be closed for the rest of the term and will not open until Wed 31 Jan. Canteen Working Bee Please come and help us spruce up the Canteen in readiness for another big year of feeding your children. If you can spare an hour or two tomorrow Wed the 13 th of Dec from 9am to spring clean the Canteen, please let Bo or Kiyomi know. All helpers will be rewarded with eternal gratitude and a yummy morning tea. Library News I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you next year. Take advantage of your spare time over the break to enjoy reading your favourite books. Thank you to the parents, caregivers and students who have returned their overdue book(s) or have seen me about an overdue notice. I have found very few on loan books last week, so please keep looking for them.
